I ordered one to check it out. It took 19 days to arrive, kind of slow. I already have a couple of Meritline's better-known small AA zoom, SKU 188-912-001, which everyone loves, for good reason. ...This one is about 1.5 cm longer, which is too bad, but it has the same excellent optics, plus the 3 modes instead of just on and off. The modes were important to me. "High" looks just like the other zoom, "Low" is much dimmer than high, should be good for battery life, and "Strobe" is very effective - the one I want to use for bicycling. Some strobes are 50% on, 50% off. This one looks more like a 70/30 ratio. Strobe seems to use the high-level brightness. The zoom operates through a clicking ring near the front of the barrel, like the zoom ring on an SLR lens. I actually prefer the push-pull action of the other flashlight, but it's not a strong preference. I just ordered three more, for gifts and spares. Certainly well worth the money.

FlashLight operates on 1 AA as mentioned. The light has different modes like strobe and three other light levels, but the intensity of the light is not as much as compared to my favorite SKU - 188-912-001 sold on meritline which has much more brightness than this one. I would say this is an OK flashlight compared to the Focus Zoom Lens Cree Q3 Flashlight Torch Light Lamp one.

Ordered this light together with 188-912-001 and I have to say this light is not nearly as bright as 188-912-001 but the plus side is that it has a flashing mode which I use on my bike rides. In that same order I purchased bike mount 188-615-001 and if you are looking for a flashlight handlebar mount do not buy this one. It is junk! Anyway if I were just buying a flashlight for normal use and not biking I would buy the more popular 188-912-001 since that light is much brighter. I would have given this light 3 stars for brightness but the fact that it has a flashing mode I gave it 4 stars but it is more like 3 1/2 stars. Thanks for reading my review.

Nice flashlight that uses only one AA battery and has three modes. Slightly larger and slightly less bright than 188-912-001 with alkaline AA, but better or comparable lumen output using 14500 3.7V lithium ion battery. Focus ring provides spotlight to broad coverage pattern. Flashing mode is attention getter for use as bicycle headlight at dawn and dusk. Exhausts 14500 battery quickly (might be battery) but good output life with drugstore alkalines. Recommend this flashlight. Second order of this light.

I'm very happy with this flashlight. It is heavy duty - you can drop it a few times and it won't break. It is small enough that you can keep it in car console, or pants pocket while on a walk. Bright light that has surprising long range. Excellent value.
