Although officially the name just changed to JVC, Taiyo Yuden is an excellent product as far as dvd's. Rarely I eve have a defective dvd.

These disks have been excellent. I was able to get 8x on my labtop dvd burner when the burner has only been capable of delivering 2x - 2.6x of burning speed on Maxell or Office Depot disks. I recommend them

These TY DVD -R are the best. I have used 200-300 on a variety of burners (Mac, HP, Pioneer, TDK, Memorex) as well as Toshiba home theater DVD player/recorder and have never had one fail.

Excellent quality, especially for the price. Out of 400+ burns, only 5 or 6 Clinkers - and half of those were probably due to mishandling prior to the burn. If they keep the same quality under the JVC name as the Taiyo Yuden, I highly recommend them.
