The units plugs are too large and usb plugs fall out very easily. The power is so low it will not power more than one harddrive.

Loose Plugs on 1/30/2014

It stopped working. Worse than that, I plugged this into a usb port on my Quirky brand "Spacebar". The lights on the Spacebar started flashing, and now none of the ports on the Spacebar work anymore.

Tends to drop USB ports at random. Flash media would work and then randomly disconnect and reconnect. A different similar hub does not exhibit this problem.

Now I am finally able to charge all my devices at once, and it is much easier to get to then trying to plug into my computer directly.

I am always running out of USB ports for camera, and MP3 players. This hub works great for me. I do not use it for Hard drives, but I have a card reader on it and camera, and Sansa players, all work well. I do use the optional power adapter. Very happy with this. I like the way that it is lines up organize the ports. I am not disappointed.

Bought two of these and both the adapters blew up within 2-3 days. The USB hub works fine, but if you plan to use it with a wall socket, you are better off buying something else.

Beware of the power supply. I bought two of these and both are showing voltages significantly over the 5v output listed on them. I got 7.2 volts on one and 6.8 on the other. That's enough to fry parts on systems designed for 5v. When plugged into a MacPro the system senses the over voltage and actually shuts off. I'm using a power supply from a Dlink USB hub rated at 5v/2amps and it works fine.

Good fast delivery and packaging. Exactly as described. My only issue is that when it is powered - it is actually putting power back to the PC. Had to unplug it and let it be powered from the PC I have. For my laptop - the power really does help.

I've put this to use connecting 8 external hard drives and it's worked flawlessly. I couldn't be more satisfied with this purchase. Of course, the 3 week waiting time is a bummer, but shouldn't affect the rating of the product. Extremely satisfied.
