Not even close to 1000 lumens. I have a known 500 lumen light, and this one is not nearly as bright. But, for less than $20 with batteries (2 x UltraFire 4000mAh 3.6-4.2V Rechargeable 18650 Lithium Batteries) and charger (18650 Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery Charger-1 Pack)... not bad. It seems that the modes don't reset back to brightest setting when you turn it off. In other words, you turn it off of "high", and leave it sit for an hour, next time you turn it on, it will be on "mid" The body size is 1", so standard scope rings will work if you want to month this on a weapon rail.

Yeah, So this flashlight is no were near 1000 Lumen as advertised! It is weaker then the one my roommate bought for $160.00 which is a 120 Lumen, but for the price I paid its not a bad flashlight. I only bought it to see if it was in fact a true 1000 Lumen, and sadly its not. If you want a good bright light for a low price its a good deal, but if your looking for 1000 Lumen you will be paying alot more money & be very lucky to find one under $300.00 Thanks Meritline it wasnt your fault!

Not Bad for Price on 3/28/2013

I just received this light and installed the 18650 battery (sku# 188-897-001) and it's very bright! Like others have stated a 1000 lumens is stretching it probably a more realistic lumen count would be 600 to 700 which is more then enough for the average user. The flashlight feels and looks very nicely built, the o-ring does not have any lubricant on it so you might want to put a bit on there and the threads too. The threads were cut nice and clean too. The reflector is kind of unique compared to most reflectors as it's partially orange peel and then as it goes toward the lens it's then smooth. ** With all that said I would recommend this light to anyone in the market for a nice bright 18650 battery flashlight. **

I use to avoid these lights that require special batteries but I had to see what the hype was about this light. So I bought this light last time it was on sale for 10.99 on Feb 23,2013. Not the 1000 lumens it states, but it is definitely worth the $9.99. Small but does give off a good amount of dispersed light. Some one noted it might emit "375 lumens"compared with other light they had.I compared it to a Dorcy 180 lumen hardware light model 41-4750. At close range 3-5ft. The Dorcy as slightly brighter, only because the Dorcy's light is more focused. Bright center but very dim perimeter. The Meritline Cree light has a slightly dimmer center but the perimeter was way brighter than the the Dorcy. At 30ft the Meritline light gave more light than the Dorcy. So I would have say that the Lumen should be about 350-450 just based on my own comparison...Just a note, The Dorcy had 4 AA duracell alkaline batteries. The Meritline Cree had the 18650 ultrafire. 4 stars since forced to use 18650.

No way it's a 1000 lumen, but it is a nice and clean light. The LED output is a nice bright white. The other flashlight I compared it to and was rated at 240 lumens and seemed very similar in output. Construction is nice, threads seemed milled to a standard. Nice and sturdy with a well balanced feel. A nice purchase for a 10 spot delivered. I will definitely keep it!

Live the light on 3/7/2013

What an insane deal for such a bright light. It never ceases to amaze me how bright this flashlight is, and for the price it is unbeatable. Of course it does need an 18650 battery to operate, but they can be found in battery/charger combos very inexpensively. This light really may be considered dangerously bright, and I would never shine it at anyone eyes or face. I do feel that the beam is a little narrow for my taste, and do wish it was focus-able, but that is a small qualm when compared to the deal that this light is.

I would recommend this, it is definitely brighter than a generic 200 Lumen flashlight I have. I used 2 CR123A?s to power this instead of the recommended 18650. I have only used this a few times, but it has been bright every time. Good back up light.

Ordered 01/19/13 delivered 02/05/2013. I ordered the flashlight and an HDMI switcher. Flashlight was wrapped in bubble wrap inside a crushed think cardboard box. HDMI just lying loose in it's box inside the mailing envelope, but was undamaged. No instructions with the light. Didn't realize it wouldn't use standard flashlight batteries. Put a couple CR123a lithium batteries in and the light is very bright. The strobe is good and the SOS works properly. Looks like if you have access to the lithium batteries it might be a good solution if you don't have access to your battery charger. Will see how long the light lasts in the next day or so. Pretty pleased so far.

Have only owned this 1 day, but it is very impressive. It is probably blinding so don't look at the LED when lit. Brightest flashlight I own. It has 5 modes (bright/medium/dim/strobe and 5th is flashing in what appears to be S.O.S. in Morse Code). Very solid construction. Nice weight. Hope it lasts, but at least at this price it can nearly be disposable if life is short.
