The picture on the box is laughable. Shows this LARGE lantern. I think I'll send it to Jay Leno. Not worth more than a buck.

About 6 inches tall, w/12 LEDs. Makes a great, cool, safe tent or camping light. Good for power outages because it's safer and brighter than candles. Runs for many, many hours on three AA batteries

great value for money! led's are bright and batteries last a long time. i do wish it had a dimmer control, but for the price i can't complain. it has survived a 2-year old constantly playing with switch, banging it against walls, and whatever else she can do to it. would buy again.

Compared to similar price lanterns sold on this site, this is the dimmest and one of the worst constructed. Don't waste your money. Get the other ones, i.e. item 188-946, same price but much brighter. Unless you are buying for looks.

Almost excellent for it's price. However it is not built to withstand rough usage so take care when using! Bright lights, long battery life, but again..cheap impact plastic. Do not expect Coleman camping equipment toughness from this; should be used by adults and not toddlers who will toss it off the table!

Someone said that this lantern can not use rechargeable batteries. That is incorrect. I use Duracell NiMH AAs on these and they work well. For the price I paid of 3 bucks, it's not bad. Basic on/off switch. Battery cover does not sit flush. Cool for display piece.

This seems a bit fragile. The plastic is light and maybe brittle. Haven't dropped yet, knock wood. The brightness is decent. Not enough to read by, which is what I wanted in case of power outage. Need to keep looking. Color is random. Got pink :(
