Wow. Here's a tip. This item had several negative comments. These things have a Very High rate of failure. Apparently, Meritline deleted the negative comments and lowered the price by a buck, in an effort to unload these dogs. Some gamble, I order junk from china. Threw my dead light away. Not worth the hassle to return. Died after less than a week.

I wanted a light that wasn't too bright nor too hot for evenings. This light is somewhat directional and doesn't light up the whole room but lights up pretty well underneath it. Its not "bright" unless you look straight into it. Its plenty bright enough to see what you're doing. The light is quite white, much whiter than incandescent bulbs. Its power consumption and heat output are amazingly low. I'm happy with it but don't have a lot of places I need directional light that's medium brightness. Its 100% what I wanted and expected. I'd say "Home Spotlight" is very accurate and "small lamp" should be a lamp that doesn't point straight up a high-ceiling room.

Technopundit's review was exactly like my experience. Perhaps it is called a "spotlight" because of its dismal output and extremely short life span (6 hrs. max). Don't waste your money or time with this garbage.

Bright with too much a blue glow for my taste. works like a nice bright bathroom "nite-lite" using $2 socket-to-plug adapter. Not bright enough but with a diffuser could work as a always-on porch light

I have ordered this bulb on two separate occasions and have used them in my over the stoves fan/vent, replacing my halogen bulbs. They have not given my any problem over the course of months so far; all LEDs still lit and as bright as when first purchased and so far they have stood up to the heat of a consistently used gas stove top. The ?warmth? of the colors are different, one bluish , the other white. I attributed that to either coming from different batches or one being older than the other ? don?t know for sure, but would still buy them again.

I don't know how long this will last in my outdoor PIR-activated security-light fixture, but so far so good. It's a 2-bulb fixture, with one of these in one socket, and a dimmable CFL reflectorized floodlight in the other. Even on hot evenings, this one is WAY brighter than the LED when they both turn on. (The CFL doesn't start at full intensity, but this LED light does.) It lights the alley great, and is uncomfortable when you look into it in the dark. I had another cheap LED bulb (from a store, not from Meritline) in that same fixture earlier, and it failed after a couple of months, so I'm hopeful but nervous about this one's life expectancy.

I have found that when you use lights by this particular manufacturer, if you use them horizontally, they burn out in a few hours, but if you use them vertically, they last for months, using them outside 8 hours a day.

Uses an incredibly small amount of wattage. You could run this 24/7 for less then ten cents a week in NYC. Con: It does not throw the light far from its source
