Pro : It works as per what it is expected to be. Con : The outer cosmetic quality is very bad. The white printing smear and is sticky. Rub it off. The PCBA soldering quality is bad. There is finger print at the PCBA and the onboard USB connector. Looks like using FR1 brown color PC board. On the product transparent plastic bag, there is a sticker say : "This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm." Don't know what chemical it contain, it never mention there. May be the product is not lead free, I guess. Disappointed that Meritline sell such a low quality product. Meritline should filter off low quality product before even consider to sell the product. Returning the product will cost me more. Regret to have bought it. Don't buy this product.

The case is black aluminum. You can rub the waxy white printing off the case with your thumb. The end panels are plastic. The business end has a USB connector and a red LED. I'm formatting a WD 500GB drive right now using the USB Y-cable - no power issues. The HD just sits in the case, held only by the SATA connector - there are no HD mounting holes. The included pouch is OK. It makes it easy to carry 500GB of storage. The price is right.

enclosure arrive in enveloop and adapter came loose. When I looked at it, the adapter was tilted probably due to shipping. I bend it back straight and not sure if its working. The product itself poorly design. Both screws came with the product as small as my glasses screws which took forever to fasten. I lose one screw on the process. Manufacture could have just use clips.

received it today. piece of junk. do not work at all. plug it in computer says unable to install the driver. compare to other hard driver enclosure will be recongized as external storage, this one says "external" only. well at least it feeded my trash can.

It works! Good deal for the money. You want better, pay more. Put old laptop drive in it, plugged it into new laptop, worked perfectly. Comes with Y-USB cord with standard size end for enclosure. Mine worked fine using only one of the ends plugged into a powered hub. Printing on mine is not smeared and does not come off - even with using my fingernail. Yes, the screws are small. But they work! Unit even came with a screwdriver. Only complaint is that it took a full month to get here.

As noted, print on enclosure smears and rubs off. Difficult to put together--one screw hole was filled, and the other was off-center. Functional so far, but you get what you pay for.
