I really would not recommend this product. It was not very easy to get the SATA part to work but I have at least had some success, the IDE part is almost impossible to get recognized. I only got it to work once but never again. I am pretty technical and I am having a really hard time getting this whole thing to work. perhaps it is defective. I would hope all of these are not this hard to get to work. What is the point if they are. The IDE part is like it is not even there as far as the OS is concerend and the SATA a loy of the time is "unknown device as far as OS is concerened. Better luck in Windows 7 then Windows XP
