I was surprised at the optical quality of these magnifiers! But be aware that these are 20x which means close watch repair like work. See the guy in the picture...well that is how close you need to be with the work. The frames are quite wide. You can slide the optical assembly down the frame for better alignment with your eyes and the LED illuminator works well. I recommend for anything detailed.

Optical quality is OK at this level of magnification. Mechanical quality I suspect is a bit iffy (don't get too rough and be careful when approaching the object under magnification - working distance is VERY short). BEWARE: if you have a dominant left eye (as I do), although you can switch the lens/light assembly to the left side of the clip on frame you can NOT switch the lens/light orientation. This puts the light right over your nose. A BETTER design would have separated the light bracket from the lens bracket (this metal bracket is all of one piece) to allow 180deg. rotation of the light to put it on the OUTSIDE independent of right/left viewing (or on the INSIDE, if you're that way inclined). This enhancement would have added very little to the cost.

Works exactly as designed and was incredibly helpful in desoldering and soldering resistors and power DC connectors to several motherboards. I purchased this at the same time that I picked up the "Magnifier Spring Clip with 3 Lenses, 1.5x / 2.5x / 3.5x-1 Pack". This device was far superior and performed perfectly.

Don't. Just don't. Poor quality, lens is cloudy, it is simply an inferior product. Spend your money on something else.

Great for fixing jewelry and removing splinters. Eyeglass frame could be a bit more sturdy - but it is acceptable.

cheap product not much good for anything other that extremely close viewing. Hoped I could use for electronic component soldering or and repair but are not designed for that. Good magnification for looking at jewery but not much more. Very flimsy but ok as long as you handle with great care. cheap can't conplain for the price
