Installation:

1. Install 2 AA batteries into control unit in the right way, and insert the cold foot into camera hot shoe (Sony A Series needs a hot shoe adapter)
2. Choose a step ring according to the aperture of your macro lens, and install the macro ring flash onto your lens, then insert the power plug into the OUTPUT socket of the control unit
3. You can choose external DC3V electricity power supply or internal BATT battery power supply according to your shooting needs

Meritline.com Verified Buyer 48 LEDs in this light are bright with uniform illumination (daylight color balance) for close-up shots. Quality of included items appears good, but AC adapter has a non-USA plug (Europlug) and no plug adapter was provided (Meritline requested replacement from). Works well on alkaline or rechargeable batteries, but manual recommends rechargeable due to high current draw. Light is very large (4” OD), but relatively light weight. There will be problems if your camera lens rotates during focusing or zoom, since the adapter ring screws in flush on the lens like a filter and the light will rotate too. Manual recommends manual focus. Vignetting occurs at wide angle, since light is mounted forward of the lens – just zoom out a little. Remember, this is a light, not a strobe. In general, this ring light should work well for close-up lighting situations and is worth the price (when on sale). Note: Works great with small items, like coins, when brought in very close to eliminate reflections.
