I LOVE this hat light! My father bought me this because I am an early morning walker. When you are out and about in the city at 4AM, it is better for the cars to SEE YOU. Especially usefull at a dark lakeside park or on a dark sidewalk. It is a MUST HAVE for walkers, runners, or joggers who do not want a bulky headlight.

These things are RIDICULOUSLY BRIGHT! I never did like these "multi-mode switches" where you have to press the button several times for "OFF". But I knew that was part of the design for this particular item. The problem with it is cheap Chinese products with no quality control; the switch doesn't always work. When you press the button it will come "ON", but pressing it again usually results no change, (not even the flash mode which it's supposed to do on the 2nd press), it just stays on the same steady mode (then of course you have to press it twice for "OFF"). So they ARE bright, work great on a cap, but have switch problems.

To add to my comment above: I could have sworn the info on this page said this was a 2-mode light, but not only does it not say this, but it's not even mentioned on the package. So apparently this one is defective. But at least it sort of "works" you just have to press the button twice, which theoretically means the switch will only last half as long as it should (which is obviously a drawback of multi-mode lights).
