First one lasted about 3 seconds...then dark. Returning it for another one. Very bright though....usually all meritline flashlights I've bought are excellent!

Second one I bought....thought I would give it another try since all my other meritline LEDs worked fine. Big mistake....Quality of this is horrible, Meritline needs to return them to manufacturer and not put them on sale!

My flashlight was very bright in 20 seconds then died away. The compass didn't work at all. Too bad! Don't bother to buy this one.

My update, my flashlight lasted just 1 day, started dimming, I installed new batteries w the same problem. I went over to Walmart and got a $25 coleman. I gave this one to my brother to look at. hes handy w repairing things.

Mine just came in the mail. Popped in the batteries, and it the switch. It was nice and bright, BUT! After about 10 seconds it got warm and stopped working. I can't seem to get it working again. This is the second model of this type of flashlight I've purchased from Meritline. I can see now there is no quality control here. Yes, the price is cheap. But once again Meritline has wasted my time by having to return this.

Beware!!! The previous reviews aren't flukes! If you're still considering ordering this after the previous reviews, save yourself the aggravation and go to the toilet right now and flush the 4 bucks it'll cost you to send it back. As other reviewers have stated, it's impressively bright, but is apparently over-driven and burns out in no time whatsoever. Mine lasted about 4 minutes, in 5-10 second intervals. It surely would have burned out in 30 seconds or less if I'd just left it on the first time I tested it. If ML had to pay for return shipping, they'd have removed it from the website instead of just lowering the price. I guess they're still hoping they can get rid of them to people buying it as a gift or for some other reason can't/won't return it.

TRASH: super great wow bright for 1 minute, then flickered and fluctuated. Triple checked and enhanced contacts, no help. Now it's dimmer than a 3AAA 3LED 'typical' flashlight. BTW compass is junk. Am returning.

Worked great for the first 5 min. Used only 30sec at at time most. I did however buy 2 of these and the second one, I replaced one of the batteries (before ever turning it on) with a piece of wire to take it's place. The light output is very close to the same with much lower heat and should last longer.

first day i got this it seemed ok and i compared it close to one i got at wallmart for about the same price. as far as brightness it looked similar to my walmart 3 watt. well the next day it stopped working. i didnt even get to use the light more then 2 days. so i guess you get what you pay for. if you want to buy junk then this is it. RMA is not even worth my time for a $9 flashlight. next time ill just buy local.

Awesome flashlight while it worked (extraordinarily bright), but 2 have now died after very few minutes of use. 1 came with a broken battery module, so I used the part from the prior dead unit. Gets quite hot while on continuously. I asked Meritline to send a replacement unit (1-2 months ago), but never received it, so will have to follow up to try to get a functional unit.

This little flash light does make it where counts. It is bright and with good distance. It has very bright (and narrow)central beam and much dimmer and wider hallo. The compas is approximate at best. I wouldn't like to depend on it in wildernes. As for durability I can not say since did not use it extensively.

This light was so good and so bright, I ordered 5 more of them. Super Light, but, the compass in the handle is useless.
