At first glance it's obvious this cannot be a 2.4Ghz antenna, dimensions of the radiating element are all wrong. However it is a mechanically well-made item ... probably for something around 800Mhz. Performance for 2.4Ghz wifi is completely unacceptable. A typical signal strength reading finds this antenna delivering -53db, compared to -47db for the small factory antenna on my router.

I agree with the other buyer, David. This antenna provides less signal than the original external antenna that came with my EDIMAX EW-7128G wireless card. I ended up keeping the original antenna connected and making a foil reflector. It increased by signal by 10dB! Save yourself the $4 and make a foil reflector to point towards your router.
