IMPORTANT: This Hub will not work with any non powered drive greater than 500Gb without an additional power source. (for those that don't understand. Freeagent 1TB Passport) If you buy this one, you can use it with any power adapter of the proper voltage and amps. Found a old Nokia phone charger with output 5.7V 7800ma and it works perfectly. You cannot access all drives at the same time but you can use it to turn on or off each drive when needed.

I originally found this in white at another retailer for more than two times the price that merit line is charging. What a great hub. I have all sorts of peripherals that need USB power. Wacom Tablet, two external hard drives, phone charger, MIDI piano interface, Line 6 guitar interface, mini helicopter, APC battery backup. With all those devices it was getting meddlesome climbing behind my iMac to replug things time and time again. I'm glad I spent the pocket change on this life changing device. plugs right in. The instructions are easy: Plug-in. Enjoy life. The on indicator lights are not intrusive at all either. I game at night with the lights off and wasn't bothered one bit by them being on. And its great being able to turn my devices off without having to unplug them. A great way to save some power if you're a penny and dimer/environmental type. shipping takes about 2 weeks. I think mine was delivered in exactly two weeks since I placed the order. Wonderful price. Wonde

This thing is great. It is a sturdy, well built device, each USB port has its own switch and a light that comes on when it is on. I have things that I don't want power going to all the time (for less wear and tear), and this allows me to keep them plugged in and to just flip a switch when I want them on. It does the job perfectly.

Good product overall, value, quality, function. Suggestion to Meritline is to bump the price 2 bucks and include a 5.5v 1000ma power supply.

These are NOT USB2 hubs! I purchased 2 of them and neither will transfer files to an external USB hard drive at USB2 speeds. I have tested the file transfers through actual USB2 hubs and the hubs listed here are dog slow in comparison. I would not recommend the purchase of these hubs if you intend to use them with anything that requires speed [such as hard drives, video transfers, DVD drives, etc.]. These hubs are worthless for anything other than a mouse!

What can I say? This little USB hub is one of the best peripherals I have ever purchased! I have tons of USB devices that I use every day, and the individual switching feature is beyond fantastic! My main purpose for buying this is so that I don't have to be constantly plugging and unplugging my webcam (paranoid to leave it on all the time). No longer a problem. The cord is not very long, but I used a 3' USB extension cable (purchased from Meritline, of course) and it reaches perfectly from the back of my PC to my desk. I have the hub strapped to the swing arm of my secondary monitor, so I have super easy access and it is not directly on my desk or in my way. Seriously a great product and looks sharp as well.

This is supposed to be a high speed 2.0, but the one I got is not. I even got the a/c adapter for this usb hub. I plugged it into my laptop and my desktop and plugged in various flash drives, a mouse, but always a pop-up appeared saying this is not high speed usb. Some reviewers appeared to have gotten a usb hub that is high speed 2.0. It was very cheap, sometimes you get a lemon. It is not worth sending back. Meritline is still awesome. Everything else about the hub is very good, sturdy design, all the ports work (albeit usb 1.1). I will buy one more when it is on sale, and hopefully its usb 2.0

Description shows that it will power/ charge without computer on...Not quite the case. First for devices to receive any power both USB and the power adapter have to be going.Second, particular USB devices will make the whole hub shut off completely. Not worth the hassle. On a positive note, construction is good and the LEDs are great. If only it workedfor my purposes.
