External hard drive and optical drive are considered high power consumption devices, please make sure the bundled power adapter is connected to the hub to provide enough power for those devices.

Windows XP and Vista detects this as unknown device. I think it is either caused by bad chips or bad assembly. So it might work for you. But I would not take a chance again.

My worst experience with Meritline. Power adapter is very poor, its power is not enough to be a source for 7 ports. Hub takes energy from my laptop usb ports and they don't function well. I'm going to plug another adapter. And these annoying lights!!! Hub looks like made for children. It's impossible to sleep in the room where it's on. I'm gonna open it and disconnect all the lights. I've got a question: why do I have to pay money for a piece of plastic?

The Construction seems cheap, as it is dropping the connection at times, making mouse, ext. hard drives to fail to communicate. Had to go for better one...

The item is cheaply made and I could do without having all the lights. Nevertheless, it has lasted over 8 months. I use all 7 ports, but never more than 2 & 3 at a time. The external hard drive transfer rate is the same, whether the hard drive is connected directly to the computer or to the hub.

Does not run as 2.0 state it is but it only runs 1.0 when it does work.

plugged this into my mac used the power adapter only had three ports used my ipod my keyboard and a hard drive tried moving some files over about 1 gig and it took over two hours to finish took the hard drive out and put on another usb hub tried the same thing and it only took about a minute i would not recommend this usb hub to anyone

product did not work, it was intermittent at first and then failed. The good news is that Meritline refunded the purchase price.

I have bought a few of these, and they all work fine. Make sure you use the AC power adapter, if you plan to connect USB hard drives or other high current drawing devices.

Works ok but it was shipped without a USB cable and I had to buy one. The power supply is a little week for powering devices that need alot but for 10 bucks it's perfect.

This item is cute and colorful, but that is it. The thing works when it wants to which is about every other time you reboot your computer.

te hub is excellent and having 7 ports is really great, but the lights are so annoying, i eventually opened it up and cracked the LEDs so i wouldnt have to see them anymore, dont bother with this product, you can get a different 7 port hub without the lig

This item does not hook up well to your usb port and some times it works and most of the times unless you reboot so system sees it it does not.
