Got these today and sure enough, they did not work in the LED lamp that uses D cells. The solution? I took a paper punch and carefully trimmed the bottoms of the plastic cases to widen the holes. The problem with these adapters is that the springs of the devices trying to use them are larger than the exposed bottom opening. By carefully trimming the holes a bit wider these adapters now work well in my LED lantern. :)

Not quite the dimensions of D-cells, and consequently don't work in several devices.

Not so sure I can give this a 5 star. It works with regular batteries, but I couldn't get them to work with my rechargeable "AA" batters (I have a lot of different brands of rechargeable batteries and none worked). Maybe they are not meant to work for anything but regular alkaline batteries, which they do in fact work.

GOOD IDEA... Not sure how/where I will end up using it. Only disappointment is that I can only get it to work with regular alkaline batteries. They don't seem to work with any of my Rechargeable AA Batteries.

Have not had a chance to use it yet, but based on other review, it looks like I will have to make some modification to the base so that a flashlight with a spring as the lower will have contact with the AA battery base

Does the trick and is inexpensive. Two issues I encountered: The (-) terminal contact surface is given by the somewhat small patch of the AA cell left exposed by the case. As the cell is otherwise fully enclosed it means the negative terminal is actually recessed inside the package by the thickness of its plastic. Many D-cell applications use large-diameter springs to make this contact. They do not reach the AA cell terminal because it is too small in diameter and partially occluded. I have to wedge in a bit of aluminum foil to provide a contact plat for the spring. terminal. Secondly, the positive terminal pin on some units is not fully pressed into place without help, so check this condition if you have installation problems.

Taking back any lower review I had in the past. Just used them to power my Eyeclops mini projector. It required 4 "D" batteries, but was able to use 4 rechargeable "AA" and these cheap but effective adapters to save a bundle on "D" batteries.
