Meritline.com Verified Buyer This device works great; same speed of charge as our OEM iPad_1 charger. It also worked with our 3GS iPhone; Gen 1 & 2 iTouches. It even worked with an "older" spec iTouch Gen 2 (as long as I used OEM cable). Charge time is fast; longevity I do not know as I've only been using it for a week.

Please note: the product has changed. (It used to be a rectangular shaped white or black charger). My previous review was based on that charger (still alive & kicking by the way) I liked it so much I ordered a 2nd one but during the 2 week transaction I was notified by Meritline that they stopped carrying that model and started with this models. (The black round shaped ones). These I'm still testing...I have a Kill-a-Watt device to measure the draw of power to make sure it does provide 1.0A or more. On the iPad1; it pulled about 1.2A but my 3GS iPhone only drew 0.5A while using the "original" charger that I thought I was buying it drew 0.8A (why is that significant> Charge times can be cut by almost 30-40%!!) I want true 2A! (Well even using OEM Apple 2A charger on 3GS; it drew 0.8A so that's the max for 3GS)

please keep in mind folks, a device may be CAPABLE of delivering 2 amps, but if the attached item only draws 1 amp, that's all you will see on the draw. You don't PUSH power to an item, you draw from it, so a 10 amp charger will still only show 1 amp if the attached device is only drawing that much. However, if you try to draw 1 amp off of a .8 amp charger, it will burn up.
