FAQ of Digital Digital TV and Antenna:

1. Q:what antenna is required?
A: You can use any antenna to connect to HDTV, like regular UHF/VHF Rabbit ear antenna. But this HDTV antenna is rather good. You may pickup more channels.

2. Q:How to capture more digital channels with strong signals?
A: It is all about Direction and location. Pointing antenna to different direction to test the receiption and for sure you will get better signals when you place the antenna near the windows.

3. Q:Is Amplifier antenna better than those without amplifier?
A: Not really. Amplifiers can be very helpful, but they can also degrade the ability to tune a signal if they overload the tuner on your TV.

4. Q:I just bought a new LCD TV. Can I watch Free OTA HD channels with this antennna?
A: Yes. You just need an antenna.

5. Q:I have an old TV. How can I watch Free OTA digital TV channels?
A: You need two items: A DTV Converter Box and the antenna. Apply the DTV coupon online at https://www.dtv2009.gov/ApplyCoupon.aspx.

6. Q: How many Over the Air HD channels in my area?
A: Go to antennaweb.org and input your address. You will see all the digital and alanog channnels available in your area.

For a simple design, it works surprisingly well (in the Philly area about 9 miles from the towers). It is much better than my existing rabbit ears or amplified UHF-VHF antennas, pulling in even WHYY (not yet broadcasting at full power). However, further away at about 33 miles, it does not pull in many stations and my rabbit ears do a much better job. Highly recommended if you live reasonably close to the towers. Sergiy--How did you conclude that no one had time to order, receive and test the antenna? I ordered it (with the Airlink101 converter box) on 3/6, shipped 3/9, received 3/13.

It's small and not amplified, but it works.

I only purchased the flat antenna, but the stand on it doesn't work very well and the reception with it isn't very good. Luckily it wasn't expensive, so it wasn't a big waste.

the digital tuner works great. the antenna dosen'twork as well as an outdoor antenna but it does pick up about 80% of the local channels, even with 2x6 exterior walls.

Easy to install. My digital tv now captures around 30 channels while before it used to be like only seven. The only thing I didn't like is the base which suppose to stick to any hard or rough surface, but it does not.Overall,it is a great product.

Great value in a UHF antenna. Be aware that you will need the AN2 model if any of your DTV stations are VHF (you can check at www.antennaweb.org )

This antenna works, but I can't compare it to others since this is the first indoor antenna I've used in many years. It pulls in stations just fine, but does require adjusting for some stations. All stations are within 15 miles of my home. Construction is a little flimsy. Rain interferes with the signal significantly.

MERITLINE IS A COOL PLACE TO BUY THINGS UNLESS YOUR ORDER IS COMING FROM HONG KONG- IT TAKES A LONG WHILE TO GET YOUR ITEM. AS FOR THE ANTENNA IT CAME IN NO TIME AT ALL, I REALLY CANT GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY, BUT WHERE I LIVE IN SURROUNDED BY HUGE TREES, THE PRICE IS RIGHT..

Go with the Kingbox version of this instead, you'll regret not paying $5 more if you end up having good channels in the VHF range this only does UHF

You can't go wrong with the price of the Artec Digital HDTV Flat Antenna. I am lucky that all the TV stations have their antennas in the same location and I have line-of-sight to them. I have no signal problems as a result. If you had good reception with a VHF rabbit ears antenna before the the June cut-over to HDTV then the UHF Artec antenna should work ok for you. The Artec antenna has a suction cup base and also comes with an easily removable sticky disc you can use for non-porous surfaces. I wanted a more stable base that I could move around so I attached the antenna to an old CD disk.
