Junk! Batteries went dead in 24 hours. The clip that holds it on the dog collar broke. Splash resistant mean a rubber skin go over the device which does not protect nothing.

Worked for finding were my can was going at nite, not waterproof, not for a permanent thing, you have to be within 50 ft but did the job for $12bucks

Item arrived with dead button batteries for the main unit (receiver). Fortunately I had bought a 10 pack of batteries from meritline previously. However, once the unit was working, it seems to be programmed backwards. It makes a loud alarm noise during setup, but when the pet is out of range, it just makes a short beeping sound. It should be opposite. Also, the product goes out of range well below the advertised range. maybe about 30 feet. Plus it beeps on the receiver, which drives the dog to cower and shake. Good Idea, bad implimentation.

the first distance alarm i've gotten that actually works to some degree. would like 1)distance adjustment, 2)vibrating receiver, and 3)better sound indicators. will it prevent your dog from straying or detect if your luggage is being moved..? not 100% confident.
