Works fine on USB, eSATA is not as easily detected; if not plugged-in prior to booting-up system.

Worked right out of the box. Quality of manufacture seems good. Reads and writes SATA drives fast over USB 2.0. I have not tried the eSATA connection.

It works well with the USB. However, the eSATA does not work at all... In spite of that, the backup software that came with it is a little cheezy but works pretty well overall. I like this product. Just wish I could use the speed of eSATA.

It is good, but under Vista it is not really plug-and-play - at least not under Sata. That is, you have to reboot the computer in order to see the drive placed into this dock. Once reboothed,you do have full SATA speed access. I do not know if USB requires reboot, as USB would be much slower at any rate. More convient than taking PC apart to add or remove a drive.

Works as advertised, but the good price comes with a few deficiencies... if you don't set it on a mousepad, the docking station will readily transmit the hum of the drive motor onto your desk or table; also, a FireWire option would have been really nice.

This docking station works great as a back up to my desktop and laptop with an existing 3.5" internal hard drive. It allowed me to check a friend's 2.5" laptop hard drive for functionality that a large electronic retail store said "had crashed". Fast data transfer rate using this docking station. Highly recommended.

I'm using it with a 150GB drive as an external hard drive and works great. Haven't tried with a 2.5" drive, though. Good value, good product. On an un-realted note, don't buy cell phone holters/carriers from meritline. Mine broke when I was running and I lost my iPhone.
