Good for the money. It works. But, I find that in actual use it's a bit clumsy. Perhaps not the best-thought out battery tester.

Bought one of these before for a neighbor and bought again when on sale. A good "GO/Nogo" tester as it puts a load of about 50ma (0.050 A) on a double a cell. Quick and easy to use-no switches or wires to fool with. Likely the same for all 1.5 V cells. Better than a digital or analog multimeter. Worth the price though for the extra cost, I like my Velleman and my old Radio Shack tester. This one will be a gift for a friend, also.

Seems to work fine. It's sometimes a little tricky to get the and - lined up, but it's minor issue. I doubt that it puts any sort of load on the battery but each time I thought that my battery was running low, it confirmed my suspicion.

It's a nice simple little meter with no cords to lose or get tangled- you just flip up the spring-loaded arm, touch the terminals to the battery in question, and watch the where the pretty needle swings to. About as idiot-proof as it could be, it seems pretty well made and unless you let your pet orangutan play with it it should hold together for a while. And the same tester with a name-brand stenciled on it will cost you three or four times as much if purchased at a local storage depot or supply shack. I like it and recommend it.

I bought the other 2.99 one as well. I intended to order this one when it was on sale and missed it. It is great a reliable, my parents had one like it 15 years ago. This by far is the best one. The only thing that would be better is if they could place a load on the battery as well. Saves a lot of time and waste versus guessing or using a multimeter.

Good product now that I know how to test 9v batteries.

The item arrived on time considering it was sent from China. It is accurate near as I can tell. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is a little awkward to hold the battery just right to get a reading.
