Works well with my Samsung Galaxy S3 and Torque Pro software. So far, I have not been able to connect using my 3rd gen iPad. Case is an attractive clear blue. Red LED illuminates when plugged into the port. Documentation is weak and is on a mini CD. Here are the instructions (Really!): we suggest that you can use "scantool_net113win",if you think that this software isn't easy to use, you can free to choose following software:EasyOBDII,OBD2Spy,ScanMaster-ELM.But them require lisence. This is exactly the contents of the, "software instruction.txt" file. I took one star away because of the weak documentation for the hardware. But then again, exploring can be fun, especially when you're retired and have lots of time to play! A variety of programs for PC, Android, and Symbian(!) devices are included.

Works great with my Motorola Droid RAZR phone. Using with the Torque Pro app, but it does work with some of the free OBD II bluetooth apps for Android. The phone recognized this transceiver immediately, listed as OBD II on Bluetooth devices.
