i was concerned when i bought the product, that i would be getting a cheap plastic knock off - but i was pleasantly surprised to discover an actual branded Canon metal tripod mount! yay savings!

The mount ring fits perfectly, and was MUCH less expensive than the Canon OEM product. There might be some inherent differences, but it looks exactly the same as the Canon, to me anyway. Product shipped from Hong Kong I believe, so shipping time is a bit longer than usual. Good product!

If you can use this specific mount ring, buy this NOW. Save yourself $120+ over the Canon brand. This ring is heavy duty and locks down tightly on the lens.
