I love this thing. I just put an 8gb SDHC card in it and it plays it fine. Full spectrum and it can play mp3s from my usb stick, the cards, or my mp3 player. The sound quality is not the best, but that has a lot to do with the station you're on and the mp3 you are playing. And your car radio. One thing that got me at first, your card/USB must be formatted to FAT. It won't read NTFS formats. My wife loves the remote because she can change songs while I'm driving. This was my 3rd transmitter and it is a keeper!

Good idea, but poorly implemented. This does just about everything you want in an adapter. It plays SD cards, flash drives (and single type memory card readers), and has an audio input. The problem is that with a curved display cover, YOU CANNOT READ IT UNDER ANY LIGHTING. It reflects light coming from any direction making it COMPLETELY UNREADABLE. It works OK in complete darkness, but it loses the frequency each time it is powered down so you have to retune it. OK if you keep your tuner near the top or bottom of the FM band and can tune by ear, but without direct frequency entry by the remote, no memories in the tuner and a guaranteed glare, it is nearly useless. I'm thinking about grinding down and repolishing the display cover to make it flat so the display can be visible. What is there to lose?

It worked right away, the quality of the sound isnt great but its an FM transmitter, I didnt expect it to be great. Otherwise its cheap and nice if you dont have a CD player or MP3 player.

Works fine, does the job with acceptable quality. However remote control failed to work in the first hour. The device is still usable, problem is: difficult to find the desirable song, player plays them in the order and you can only scroll them song by song forward or backward.

The Line-in feature does not work. Have yet to try the USB/SD card mode but with line-in, all I get is static, at all frequencies, so I don't think it recognizes the presence of a signal. For the price I forgive this.

It simply does not work. I have another FM transmitter (different manufacturer) that I use in my small car and that works great. When I set this one to the same wavelength and connected my MP3 player there was horrible static and interference which drowned out the music. This happened in both my cars while the older one worked perfectly in both of them. This was a waste of money. If you like throwing your money away then please buy this, if you want something that works then keep your money and look for something better. I wish I could get my money back.

For the price this is a very good product. It is simple to setup and use. The remote is very handy. This accepts many flash memory devices. Sound quality is very good; just keep this unit's volume below 20 and you will not have any noticeable distortion. Use your car radio amplifier's volume control to increase the volume.

I was not impressed with this product. First, the transmitter will not tune to the correct freq. Whatever freq I set the transmitter to, I can not hear the music being transmitted. Secondly, if loading music on a memory card to be transmitted, each song has to be loaded individually. A whole ablum can not be played unless you individually drag that song over one by one and cannot be in a folder. Finally, the lack of direction for the product did not help either. I give this product a POOR rating and would not recommend it to others.

Product stutters playing higher bit rate MP3's (>192) - tested on multiple USB drives. Product unusable via line-in jack regardless of the volume settings of either the input or the product itself. Sound is horribly distorted. Tried multiple line-in inputs, same results. This product is very poor.

The product is totally a junk. Packaging is bad. Didn't mention the music was actually going through car radio reception and didn't bother to tell which frequency should tune into. The sound quality was terrible, way worse than, not even comparable to, normal FM radio. Since Meriline doesn't reimburse shipping cost on returns, I didn't want to waste my time and money for the return. This might just be my last purchase on Meriline.

Timely shipping considering close to holidays and coming from Asia. A great product at twice the price. At present I am using it with a 2gb SD card but I understand it works with SDHC cards also. Most features work well - transmitting power, changing tracks, remote control features. Works with SD card and flash memory stick, but does not work at all using the cord to an MP3 or Ipod player. Pretty good price, and shipping was in a reasonable time frame. Meritline responded well to my issues.

It is a great product and very useful specially if your car audio system does not support an MP3 disc. I would rated it excellent if it had worked. Mine had some problem with the FM transmitter and my car audio system was not able to pick the signal. There might be quality issues with it as mine had. If you are concerned about aesthetics, it might not be the best looking gadget you may find.

Great Buy! I use it in my work truck that only has a radio. CONS I can't seem to play music from anything but USB. The sound from the stereo jack is fuzzy. No fast forward or rewind PROS Sound quality is decent - much better than my previous FM transmitter. Remote is SWEET! Remembers last position overall I am pleased. For the price, you can't knock it.

This particular unit didn't work due to poor quality inspection. I have brought one of these in a previous order and it works fine. But this one just from the start. I've found a big chunk of solder in the SD slot. This cause the pins in the slot to become uneven and resulting in poor contact. So when you stick an SD card in the slot, not all the pins make good contact with the card. Two of the pins got bent and don't seem to be able to be reset properly.

The FM Transmitter Sucks.. they have a 30 days return policy and the shipment reached me closed to 40 days after i ordered it... I brought a 8GB SDD Card to use with this.since this was so bad, I gelt there is no need to use it and i returned the SD Card, So that i save atleast the 2o bucks...

I used it with my flash drive and the sound is good enough. It gets noisy when intercepted with a radio station though. So you have to find an empty spot. My concern is that the cable doesn't work. When I connect it to my phone, all I hear is noise. For that price, that doesn't bother me much.

I bought 2 (one for each car) of these and they both had the same problem of the little cable not connecting correctly to the mp3 player. Now, the SD card and the usb flash drive work like a charm and you can hear the music clearly through the radio. Will keep them and use it with the SD card.

Documetation of use is limited. Wide variety of frequencies makes running this a breeze. Works well, but sometimes you have to "figure out" why it stops. There is a volume control that can be adjusted accidently causing it to appear non functional. Have not tried it directly to mp3 player but very happy using it in car with SD card.

The mp3 player *can work* but it is terribly finicky in terms of sending a proper signal that my radio can use. My car has an antenna built into the rear defroster grid, so maybe that is part of the problem. The remote control is essentially useless. The buttons work maybe 1 in 5 to 1 in 10 tries. Volume is sporadic across songs, but that is to be expected from any multi-album song list unless passed through some sort of equalizing algorithm first. I would frankly save the few bucks this cost and put it toward a better unit. It's a great idea but the implementation just isn't there yet in my opinion.

I was really pleased with how well it works. The FM transmission was very clear, no hiss. The SD card slot broke on one unit where it wouldn't stay clicked in any more but the USB port still worked fine. I liked it so much I bought 5 more for friends.

I have ordered several of these for friends. I had an issue with one of them which was replaced by Meritline without any issues whatsoever. If it doesnt recognize any .mp3 on the card, try formatting the card first before putting songs on and also try creating a folder when putting songs within the folder on the card.

The idea is great, especially with the cool remote, but the product quality is garbage. Don't waste your money, unless you don't mind listening with a loud buzz along with your music. The device creates it's own radio interference, even on a crystal clear frequency. You'll really notice in the 'silence' between tracks that's it's not at all silent, it's this thing screaming. Also, my brand new one out of the package was unable to play from an SD card because the contacts inside were so poorly aligned!! No cards read for me. It was able to play through the USB port, but as it is so overly tight, no flash drive would ever fall out, and you may need pliers to remove it. Thus, the concept is fantastic, with the OLED graphics and everything, but in function and sound quality it fails miserably, and sounds horrible. I would have still used it if not for the loud buzz the entire time it's on. Very disappointed.

Works great. It DOES remember the FM frequency and last track when powered off. Remote is infra-red, so you have to aim it at the device. The tracks are played in the order they were copied to the disc, so I use the free program "drivesort" to arrange them the way I want. Sound quality is as good as can be expected - it is FM - not digital. Very little background noise. The one feature that I don't like is that it always starts at the beginning of a track, and there's no way to fast-forward. As far as overall quality, it's kind of flimsy. I wouldn't expect it to survive a lot of abuse, but all things considered, you're getting a lot of technology for less than 10 bucks.

Works well as advertised. Compared to some other FM transmitters that I have tried in the past, this one worked well in my car. No static or interference at all! Easy to set any FM freq. that is available. Play can be repeat one track, all tracks, or shuffle. Remembers the last song that was being played, even when taken out of the socket and moved to another car, but not if you remove the USB/SD card from this gadget. Only negative I have found so far is that it does not remember the actual location within a song and just starts it over again the next time. The display is clear and visible easily. Remote seems to work fine but haven't found much use for it myself. May be useful if someone in the back seat wanted to control... In short, for the price, certainly well worth the purchase.

I'm very happy with this item. I have a CD/Cassette player in my car which doesn't play MP3's. This device is well worth the price for what it does. At first I couldn't get clear sound out of it, but that's because I didn't know how to adjust my radio. It's so much more convenient than carrying CD's and transferring them from one car to another.

ordered 4/27 and received 5/9, It remembers the last song and last channel that was played last time before turn off the car(no complaits like others). it sorts the songs in the folder in such a way the songs copied first in the Card or USB Drive. I am not able to navigate by folders. sound quality is little lower then the CD or Tape quality of my Audio system. agree with "CAN'T READ THE DISPLAY, With a curved display cover". but compared with my VR3 that i bought at wallmart for $27 20 months ago, that had only the channel display and not stable with the power, this one is lot much better and the price is only $10. Very poor quality. Car charger side springs and connectors broke on 3rd day of light usage. There is no way to fix this as the internal parts all started coming off.

This is a cool toy. Must have for any car or people who travel a lot. It is a lot more convenient to take your songs in a SD card or a USB Flash drive and have the flexibility of using in any car. This is a very neat device, and so far, has worked quite well for me. Setting the signal and so on wasn't hard, and the sound is pretty good, as good as listening to a standard radio station in a car radio. The remote is cute, but doesn't seem to be too powerful, in that you have to point it right at the device from a few feet. Not hard from the driver's or passenger's front seats. The USB, or 1 Gig SD card both work fine, but it's true you must load the mp3 songs right into the device, not in play lists or folders. So advanced users, it's kinda klunky. For music fans like me who actually like random play, being able to drag and drop dozens of new tunes into the player, and listen to them in minutes, not burn a CD-R, it's a totally CHEAP and pretty amazing tune player. Great for long trips. Finally, one last thing, some mp3 seem garbled. Don't know if the mp3's are flakey, or the player is. I am quite pleased with my purchase. I bought this because I borrow my Dad's spare car when I go visit him and he doesn't have a CD player in that older car, so I thought that this might be a nice alternative to just listening to the radio. This is PERFECT! And, now, I even use it in my regular vehicle (which has a CD player) to listen to audio books. It is so easy to copy audio books to a SD card or thumb drive and slip it into this little device and *PRESTO* instant audio books on-the-road without having to burn yet another CD! And, depending on the capacity of your SD card or thumb drive, you can burn gigs of stuff, versus a CD which is so limited in capacity. The sound is just fine for my needs. If you want concert-quality, then you aren't going to be satisfied, but this is quite good (exceptional, in fact, for what it is and what you are paying), and I am totally happy and not only recommend it, but I have now purchased four more of these for friends and family. This product is working great for me. I tried my SD card and it worked perfect. Just took few seconds to tune it up. but once I get the matching frequency it plays songs perfect without any noise. I tried connecting both SD card and Mp3 player. Mp3 player takes priority and it plays song from player. Once I disconnected my mp3 player it made noice for 2 seconds and then started playing songs from SD card.

This is a good buy when you dont have MP3 Player. It has worked great for me, clear sound with SD Card, USB and my iPhone. When connected with External source, keep the volume of the source in the middle (not high) otherwise it may become very noisy. I would recommend this.

First, lots of white noise. Second, if I set it to a random frequency, my car cannot find it. So I have to set it the some frequency as one of my local radio. Third, it always starts from the first song. I put hundreds of songs to SD card, but have to listen to the same 10 songs everyday. Last, the poor quality. I tried to adjust its position, and screw came out.

I had a friend order this item for me OVER 2 years ago AND I SILL use it every night. So far I have had NO PROBLEMS with it (other than finding a FREE radio station frequency on my car radio) & it DOES NOT loose the radio frequency when you unplug it (unlike someone else said). I like that the remote is thin enough that I can slide it into my car radio CD Slot partially to hold it for me so it's always within reach & I know where it is. I use it to play both SD cards, MP3 Players, & USB drives. I also use it to play the Audio portion from a Movie DVD that I have playing on a DVD player so I can listen to the audio through car radio while I'm driving (and NO I DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE)... You should hear the "STARWARS" Movie through the car radio... Fantastic... Would I but it again??? YES!!! Would I recommend it to others??? YES!!! I DARE ANYONE to find a BETTER & CHEAPER item that works as well... Enjoy it...

I have one of this in silver colour bought 2 years back and using since then. Works like champion with both SD card and USB stick. There is no folder surfing, but it counts all MP3 from subfolders and plays them how they were originally copied in sequense. You can jump to song # 200 and it plays for you. sound quality is excellent, I see some coment on volume, but sound is creat depends on what quality MP3 file you have. 128 bit plays great like CD. USB Stick has preferance if you installed both SDcard and USB. set to any channel odd or even frequency..works great. I paid like $7 2 years back still is the best seller and great player.. I never think of having IPOD after this.

Did not work at all. The fuse burns in seconds. It says 12volt-24volt. My car lighter is 12volt. Do not see any reason except poor quality.

Excellent product, actually much better than described. It works with SD cards as well as USB Memory Sticks. I am using an 8GB USB stick and it works great. Random play takes a couple of seconds to switch tracks but other than that it works better than my expensive Pioneer Receiver in my other car. FM modulator has enough transmit power to give good sound without excessive static like most cheap units. Ability to select freq is a good feature. This also remembers which track was playing even if unplugged. It starts from the beginning of the track when powered back on. Good for music, probably not so great for audio books?

Plays fairly good -I am using a usb flash drive with songs and audio books. It did blow a fuse in the auto fuse panel the second time I plugged it in, but since then I plug it in after cranking the vehicle and haven't had any more problems. a great price for that kind of entertainment.

Works very well with many choices to find unused station on FM dial - sound quality is pretty good, with rare static. However, the remote control does not work at all. When I notified Meritline, they shipped me a new transmitter with remote, and the 2nd one did not work either. The remote had been a big selling point for me, since I already had an FM transmitter. I will give them another chance to make good, though - I've been satisfied with multiple other purchases in past year, although they've been usually $1.00 or less items...

This product suffers from bad quality control. That is a shame since it has nice options. Unit powers up and I can change FM frequencies but it can't play, no sound comes out. I tried line in, direct SD card and USB nothing. It does make sound when I use remote control so it is transmitting but it will not play.

Strong transmitter. Works much better for me than the Microsoft Zune branded ones. MP3 player function works, but it is not ideal. Limited functions, but it does work if needed. No problems so far with daily use.

It has lot of distortion and the plastic quality is bad. Its better you spend another 10bugs more and buy a better one. I have never used this since then and I strongly recommend others not to buy this product. Its a waste of money.

Received unit, looked ok, tried to play my Ipod and it would not work, tried in two different cars, unit said NO Device plugged in and my Ipod just said do not disconnect and would not go any farther. Called Meritline and said they would send me another unit. If I get another unit this is excellent service from Meritline. and will continue to order from them .

Cool! My only complaint is that when it loses power (as it does in my car since whenever I shut off the car, the power to the cigarette lighter goes off), it always starts back at the first track. Very annoying for listening to an audio book.

Works as expected. Great reliable functionality for a low price! Unlike mentioned elsewhere, it does remember the last FM channel set. So once it is set, just plug in the MP3 player and listen to the music.

The good thing about this product is it can read USB drive, SD card with out any issue. But the FM transmitter sound quality is very very worst in my Honda Civic car. They have wasted the very good design of the product with the worst quality sound transmission. The remote control works good no problem with that. Don't go for this product if you are looking for very quality sound transmission.

I have ordered two of them. One work fine and the other was DOA. But Meritline was quick to reimburse me for the bad one. Since then I have ordered a black version which work fine as well. Only problem is a slight buzzing sound just before the song lock in and play.

I am only rating this based on my admittedly limited usage. I have not tried using the SD card or USB functions. I connected my MP3 player to this device using the LINE IN connection, with the provided length of audio cable. No matter what station I tuned to, I could never get the full range of audio from a song. I was listening to Chemical Brothers and honestly didn't even know it. I could tell it was electronic music, but only parts of the song were coming through. It was missing part of the mix. Because of this, I cannot really recommend this device. I still give it 2 stars because it's a cool little gizmo, and MAYBE the other features work better.

Product does not work. All that is broadcasted is an annoying humming noise full of static. If the volume in the car is turned up the song from the mp3 player can barely be heard in the background drowned out by noise and static. Would not recommend buying this.

Pretty good considering the cost. Pros: takes jump drive or SD (SDHC). Can tune to any frequency. Sounds decent. Cons: only remember track and does not remember positions within a track on resuming. It is not stereo.

For what I paid it's OK. It does do I good job of streaming MP3's to the radio but the AUX inputs distorts and does not work well. So if you want a basic MP3's put in a large SD card and you have days of music. However, you'll not have any control of what's playing other than you can skip a song you don't like.

Performs OK for the money. Saves FM station setting and starts at the beginning of the last song played the next time you start the car. BUT, it seems to "stick" sometimes and quits playing on certain songs.

The Mp3 player works well. I found a problem or two but the unit works very good. If you buy one see where your radio antenna is if it is in the back of the car you may a problem with signal. Over all the unit is very good for the price. The manual could be a little better. I have showen this unit to many frends and they have ordered one also. Ron.

The actual unit does NOT fit well into the cigarette lighter, the Remote control does not work smoothly - you need to press extra hard to change tracks - and finally the Audio Signal is of poor quality. You get what you pay for!!!

fm transmitter works fine but you can not use ipod to play through sterio pin. it makes noise and you cannot hear anything, i found amother one ( diffreent company and style) like this with diffretent and ipod worjs fine for that one.

shipping was very slow - seems more the fault of USPS as it delayed delivery for 12 days after package reached a very close-by PO. The product's very easy to work with, reasonable quality when it worked well. Took some time to find a channel without much noise. But from time to time you still have to switch channels (sometimes frequently) to get rid of the (re)appearing noise.

It's amazing how a small thing like that plays music from a flash drive. I have been able to tune it to a nice channel on the radio (it's not even a free channel, it already has some station) and it plays my songs quite clearly. To people who haven't been able to make it work, I suggest to tune your car radio to any frequency and then tune this device to that exact frequency - it should play the songs on the flash drive or cell memory card. Also remember this device plays only .mp3 and .wav.

I purchased one of these devices from Fry's (w/o remote) under the marketing name MachSpeed and I can not believe the additional adaptive uses I have found for it. Combined with an AC adapter that plugs into the wall (WaganTech 12v Cigarette port plus 5v USB port - Walgreens, $12.99 ) I can charge my iPOD as well as uplink and broadcast streaming internet talk and music radio throughout my home. It is kinda' like having a poor man's wireless speaker set-up throughout one's house at a greater less expense due to the fact that any FM radio signal receiving device is now your speaker system. With a broadcast range stated at about 150 feet, it works very well to have a consistent program playing throughout the house. I will be giving some of these to dear friends.

First few times I used. It worked properly with the frequency FM 107.9 and I thought it was cool. But after a few days, it does not work anymore. I used the same frequency at the same location, all I got all is the static noise signal. I tried to change the frequency. It still does not work. I gave up.

Not bad at all for the price. Voice quality is not like a cassette adaprot but for the price, this dongle works just fine. If voice quality of CD or cassette adaptor is 100% then this dongle will deliver around 90%. Once a while I get to hear static noise but it's very common to hear static noise on radio regardless.

Silver i-Mobile Cool Car MP3 Player W/ FM Transmitter + Remote Control- was working fine up till last week. Now it is not able to play from the USB port(not reading the USB Flash Drive). From SD port it plays but reads the song file very slow. i.e 1 second of song length takes more then 5 seconds of time to read, because of this song not audible at all. Same USB card and SD card inserted in another i-Mobile Cool Car MP3 Player works fine. Therefore problem is in this i-Mobile Cool Car MP3 Player. Is there any reset button to put it back to factory settings. If able to make it work again it would be great. I tried by pressing Play/Pause button for approx 10 seconds, it changes from default Repeat A to Repeat 1. There are total of 3 options Repeat A, Repeat 1, Repeat S. Not sure about functions of these options .

Bought at a cheap price so I did not expect much. Placed music on the SD card and it did recognize it. The only problem is that the sound I get from my radio is not very clear, although I spent hours trying to find a right radio frecuency. May be some kind of interference. I'm back to my car's CD player.

It worked once and then just stopped. I've tried all the various ways to play music with it with no luck. What do you want for 5 bucks. Save your money for something of higher quality.

This is an Excellent Product!! But heads up, the Audio in jack doesn't work for me. If I try to use it, it makes a really loud noise, and you can't hear the music well at all. But if you are looking to buy this to play SD cards or USB drives, then this is a great product!! The sound quality is crystal clear off of an SD card! Would definitely recommend it!!

Works great! Great deal. My son said there was hissing or interference when he first plugged it in and he lowered the volume on the unit and it works great! No noise in between songs. We just use the volume on the radio if we need to.

Good and as descripted. I am happy with it. If you set the frequecy at a place where there is a FM station, you will have noise. To solve the noise problem, Reset the frequency.

These things are great! You just pop in your memory card being a regular sd card or a micro sd card with your adapter or plug your device into the side and there ya go...It digitally displays the songs, you can change channels to pick the best reception. You can't go wrong and at the price it's a steal!

This was junk from the start. When I tried to use it, the sound was so distorded that it couldn't be listened to. I tried many different FM settings but nothing cleared it up.

Unit came in about 10 days from Hong Kong. Unit work fine. The audio quality isn't as good as that from a CD player. It depends on how good is your FM radio reception and FM radio audio section you have. The better FM section the better the sound. Still the audio is compressed due to the FM bandwidth limitation. But for the money a very good buy.

This is my first FM modulator and after a few days of using it, I can say the following: 1. The sound quality is very, very good, maybe excellent. 2. It works fine with a 4gb flash drive. 3. The mp3's can be in folders or not as one prefers. 4. Some functions are accessed only via the remote. 5. I have an auto battery jump starter with a cigarette lighter socket and I use this in my home with a number of FM receivers at the same time. 6. Problem: There is no manual and I can't figure out how to get it out of Shuffle mode and in to Straight-thru play. (One reviewer here mentioned using all three modes: Repeat, Shuffle and Thru. How is this done? Overall Rating: A+

I was not able to get my car radio to tune in to this device's broadcasting. This is in contrast to a similar device I had in the car using the same mp3 player as a source. I thought maybe I needed to move it around to get better reception so I used a 3 foot extension cable to my cigarette lighter power and moved it around the car including inches from the antenna outside the window. There was still allot of static and was annoying to listen to. This will go in the garbage can.

I've had FM transmitters that worked well and this was definitely not one of them. It never worked. All I got was static; I couldn't hear the music at all. Not worth the money.

Recommended Item. Works just like my other one that I paid 20$ for at Wal-mart. Ive noticed it will play both mp3 and wma but not at the same time. So I'm only putting mp3's on my 2gb sd card I also got from meritline. Fast shipping. Great customer service.

Good service. good product. After reading some of the reviews I was not expecting much. What a surprise! In addition to getting it on black friday deal for $4.99 and free shipping :-) this product performed as advertised. I use it on my 91 Toy Highlander! Popped in my 8gig card and voila music as good as FM stereo station; did noticed the humm but that was removed by adjusting the vol. on the player. Also have plugged my phone to it and works great! Today was my 4th day of using it. May I also add the remote is sweet! Thank you Meritline! this sure beats top name fm transmitters that cost $80 + and DON'T WORK!

This device is totally useless. The sound quality is horrible. Lots of static. You have to turn the volume up a lot just to know it is turned on and playing. The inline cord is way too short. The display is very hard to read. I would return it except that it will cost more than its worth. I'm gonna toss it and chalk it up as a loss. Move on...

Exceeds expectations. Works well in 3 cars. Prox to radio helps, I think. Remote cont compensates for small contrl panel. Have sent 3 friends to buy so far. Feature rich and cheap. I'm buying spares.

This product did not work out of the box. I have tried all the different methods (cards, direct audio connection) and shows no signs of working. I will need to definitely return this.

Quality is what it should be for 7 bucks price. FAT Format needed no NTFS. SD card worked fine but do not use folders. In Line with mp3 player worked fine. Sound quality is whats to be expected using fm transmitter radio, very decent sound if your mp3s are good quality and on a clear unused radio station. Comes with EQ that is not bad. NO SHUFFLE MODE, wish there was one, that I can see or have found. It Auto repeats. Remote is ok but you gotta push the buttons hard with a slight delay between each push. Other reviews say SDHC card works so I hope so. Display isnt bad at all. I would rec for less than 10 bucks price.

It makes horrible noise when I connect my iPOD or my MP3 Phone. Its like, its trying to play it, but cannot.... and with no folder support, we will have to manually go one song at a time, till the time, we get the right song....
