This is *NOT* a Magnetic Induction flashlight. Is not made by Cree but by Sipik, only the LED is Cree. It is a normal 3-AAA battery flashlight. Very nice quality, very bright. But the description is simply wrong and while they refunded my money and let me keep it they have yet to change the description.

I think the use of Magnet Induction (MI) in the title is a little misleading because it's not explained in the description. It refers to the zoom ring that raises and lowers the LED by magnetism. You can check this with a compass. The light is as bright as 188-912-001 and looks identical to 600-814-001 with only MI and waterproof being the difference in description. But 600-814-001 should have MI. If anyone has both, please confirm. The negative about this item that there is a retaining ring that rattles and the clip is weak (- one star). On the plus, it’s easy to disassemble.

this is a beautiful little flashlight just as bright as all the other 3 watt crees on this site. the dimmer switch rotates from left to right and is located towards the front of the flashlight. it's also painted forest green looks very nice with the rest of the black aluminum case. it's only an inch longer than the other 3 watt crees i buy (248-420-001). another reviewer correctly identified that this item has the 3 cycle mode (low, bright and strobe), i would rather it just have the on/off switch myself too. it feels more sturdy than the other 3 watt crees i normally buy but it does cost twice as much (if not on sale). would purchase again if it goes back on sale. the little clip is a bit cheesy and seems pretty flimsy it seems that that piece would be the first point of failure other than that when it does break, take it off and toss it. this is still a great little flashlight either way. loving it.

As others stated, not induction, although this is the brightest flashlight I have ever owned in this size for this price by far. I could focus a spotlight style beam onto houses across alley , about 200 feet, with a beam width of less than 20 feet and nearly the intensity of my old H3 spotlight... Just amazing, the clip is less than desirable and that ridge it rests on is rubber and can slide for some unknown purpose... All in all, best flashlight I have ever owned and I think I will buy 1 for every vehicle I own and give one to my mother as well. You have to cycle High-Off-Low-Off-Strobe-Off. But it appears that if you use high and off and then don't use for a while next time you use it high is first. Buy now..

Nice flashlight, worth the money. I would give it all stars but mine ended up being three mode. Bright, not as bright, and flashing. You have to click through each setting, would prefer it to have been just off and on. Other than that it's good.

This flashlight is a beast! I have purchased about ten smaller, sku 188-912-001 torch lights (single AA battery) and those were the brightest flashlights i'd ever owned. Decided to try one of these (at a LOWER COST than the smaller lights!) and am really amazed, now THIS light is the brightest flashlight i've ever owned. (uses 3 batteries) I'm buying a 2nd and possibly a 3rd of this item now, while it's available. Lanyard is nice, construction is solid, heavy handle, a little awkward to hold after being used to single battery lights, nice clicking rotation ring for adjusting the beam (not a sliding lens, push/pull adjust, like smaller lights) Also one thing i discovered, ..this light cycles between 3 modes, BRIGHT, less-bright and strobe. (I can't come up with any reason i would ever use that).. but to change modes, click the light ON... then tap the button again VERY LIGHTLY... and the next mode will come on, without having to click the whole light off and back on to get the next

At first, this flash looks nice and solid. However, it is not as good as it looks. The flash is NOT water or dust tight. It will allow water and dust to enter inside lens very easily. There is fairly big gap at focus adjust (dimmer) ring. No O-ring or anything to keep dust out. You must use it at clean environment. What is with magnet induction ? One of the review said the focus ring is magnetic. However, it is not! It is a screw type right and it allows LED plate (not lamp) to move up and down to control focus. There is no magnet inside anywhere.

VERY nice quality and SUPER BRIGHT light. Just pick up a rechargeable 18650 battery and charger to drive this puppy and you will be stunned!!! VERY bright and focus-able.... MUCH brighter than my 3-D-cell Maglite, not to mention about 1/10 the size... Very high quality construction. As another person said, wish it had ORing seals for true water and dust seal, but it is still a very good buy when on sale. Go for it.

Very nice quality flashlight. Well made and very bright. Made by Sipik, which also makes the highly rated SKU 188-912-001 Cree Flashlight. The zoom works with a "clicky" knob that I haven't seen before. I can't vouch for the water resistance because I haven't wet it. Fast shipment by Meritline from California. All in all, I am very pleased with this flashlight.

It's a great flashlight! Optics are good, it's bright, and easy to use. The only negative thing I can say about it is the clasp to connect the handle on it is a weak point.
