I purchased this a couple of weeks ago as I really need to police myself when I go out on drinking binges. Last weekend, like most of my weekends I found myself at the tail end of a 36 hour bar hopping session. Against my better judgement I got behind the wheel of my car only to find this little number resting on my dash staring me in the face. I then gave it a go and blew a .073 much to my surprise. I started to head home when I was abruptly pulled by a state trooper. He had me step out of the vehicle and do the field sobriety test and then blow into his hand he then said I was drunk but I told him I was packing this little number and then demonstrated and blew into it one more time, this time I registered a .343! Needless to say my ass was in chains quicker than you can say another round please! I am now thoroughly disgusted with this product! I really think it is some kind of entertainment purposes only gadget!

I bought this back in college (from a different vendor) to make sure I would be able to drive, you know the deal. Anyways, neither I nor anyone else who has used it has been able to blow higher than a 0.04, which leads me to question its quality... We had some pretty valiant efforts at obtaining a high score, to no avail. If your safety is what you're concerned about, go with the sure thing and buy a more expensive product. In electronics, you REALLY get what you pay for.

In regards to dizzylizzy's review, lets take note of 2 things: 1. Your BAC can actually go up for a few hours after you've been drinking heavily, as the alcohol is still absorbing into your system. So there's a good reason you might blow a .073 and then a .343 later. 2. More importantly, if you're drinking so much that you're blowing anywhere close to a .343, you have to be a complete moron to not realize you're totally smashed anyway.
