The Meritline specs for this USB cigarette lighter charger state "DC 5.0 V/MAX. 1000 mA..." That would be sufficient for most cell phones including Blackberry. However, when I tried to use it to charge my Blackberry it didn't work and I saw the Blackberry message ("you cheapskate - you bought a Meritline instead of a Blackberry charger; it's too weak"). Paraphrasing of course, but you get the point. In fact, this charger outputs less than 500 mA - I don't have a scope so I could only measure that it was somewhere between 180 mA and 400 mA. Don't buy this device if you want to charge something larger than a bluetooth ear piece. It won't work.

I'm sure this product works fine when charging things like digital cameras and such, but I bought it thinking it would be able to charge my iPod Touch 3rd Generation in my car. I was wrong. DON'T buy this if you expect it to charge anything past an iPhone 1st gen!

I measure 900 mA output before current limit, almost up to spec. 5.28V which is on the high end but OK for most devices. Only one spring of 2 on the - input is connected, which made the connection more intermittent. Easily solved with a small stranded wire soldered to both springs.

Works well, cheap plastic casing obviously. Had a little sticker residue on it, but no sign of what cause it. I bought usb cables to charge my cell phone in my car. Got tired of chargers breaking on me!

Only lasted about a week using only 1 of the 2 ports..always smelled like burning plastic in my car.. the construction feels extremely cheap Overall is not worth a dollar Because it breaks right a way And fills your car up with fumes

Fell out of my car onto my driveway and busted. Very cheap construction, so you must take very special care of it. It worked fine before that though.

It doesn't work for Iphone. I did not bother to return. This is only one so far I bought from meritline.com I don't like.
