Have a BlacX harddrive dock with lots of bare backup drives and also have to transport a harddrive between home and work so this is perfect protection for both purposes. One other thing, the meritline notes say to put the SATA/IDE side in first if the HDD is difficult to get in and out. But that is not the problem. It's more of a HD label side up or down. Just make sure the top label on the HDD and the label on the HD case are facing the same way and you're good to go.

Nice case for the drives that fit, some brands of server SCSI's don't slide in & out easily, though. One broke when I dropped it, but the drive was fine, which is a win as far as I'm concerned.

Item arrived as described and works well for it's intended use. I haven't hat the need to open and close the case very often, so I guess only time will tell in regards to how long the plastic hinge will last. I would purchase this item again.

These boxes are excellent to store your drive in and you can label the boxes if you have data on the drives. I ordered several to store my spare drives on the book shelf, making my drives more handy and ready when I need them. Meritline has the best price on these as I checked around, can't beat Meritlines price on them!

Same review for different color unit: Best way to store loose or archive Hard drives that I've come across yet. Latches are a bit difficult to pry up to open, but I can live with that...
