Okay boys gather round, and I'll tell you why this item isn't working for you. The information isn't on the site and it took me a long while to figure it out. That it took me so long sort of made me ashamed of myself. !. Use the charging cord to charge the device fully and so that the 3 pretty blue LED lights are fully lit. 2. Top Secret! Insert your USB cord into an out port and connect to your device. THEN see the little silver square next to the LEDs? press it. It's a switch that turns on the USB out ports. your device should now be charging. Send money if you wish.

I am really pleased with this! I got two of them in the hopes they worked fine. They do. The fact that its capacity is 5000mAh is amazing for the price. I have charged some iHome speakers with it and mostly a Nokia N900 cell phone. I can charge the Nokia about 3 or 4 times on a single charge. Thanks to the "instructions" reviewer. Saved me some time.

These batteries are terrible. They almost caught on fire. I ordered two of them and as soon as I got them I plugged one in to charge. Thank God I didn't walk away. About 5 seconds later it started smoking. I quickly unplugged it. I realized that sometimes things happen during manufacturing so I put it aside to return and went for the next one. Just to make sure I stayed with this one too when I plugged it in. Low and behold this one started smoking too! Not just one but TWO in a row! VERY DANGEROUS!!! Luckily I contacted Meritline and they did send me a return label to return them. It took a few days more than they said but at least they sent it. The day they received the package they issued me a full refund. So thank you Meritline for handling it well. But DO NOT buy these batteries, for they may catch your house on fire!

I received the item on time and was eager to use it, I fully charged it overnight and the next day I was outdoors all day when I Samsung Epic run out of battery I plugged it into the unit and it got a full charge (as expected) but then my daugther plugged in her cell phone and a few minutes latter the unit started to make a humming sound, all lights when off and didn'r cherge the phone, so with a full charge it only had enought poer for 1 cell phone :( very dissapointed.... find somethig alse I e-mailed the company but I ahven't got a reply....

Have had a lot of issues with this item. Does not work well with my droid bionic, but seems to work with all my smaller electronics. I have learned that I need to keep the battery from getting hot or it shuts off. Laying it flat on a table with no air flow makes it get too hot. standing on end with a breeze or fan on, helps it to stay cooler and prevent it from turning off. I have also learned that the 1a side will cause it to over heat and turn off in only a few seconds. I recommend it for smaller devices only. if you have a power hungry device, find something better to use.

Product charged over night. Plugged in my phone and it started to charge. About 20 seconds later, the unit turned off and phone stopped charging before 20% charge. Battery was hot and would not turn on again until after connecting it to a usb to charge. It was already fully charged. Tried several different cords and devices with the same results. Will try for another day ir two, then ill return it. Maybe i just got a bad unit.
