I purchased a number of these when they were on sale last year. 50% of these products are now defective. Most of the defects are from single LED element failure in the series parallel arrangement of 3 strings of 34~36 leds. Of eight units purchased, four are defective. Of the four, two had catastrophic failures due to poor soldering (repaired) and two were write offs with string failures (elements burned out). The average service life turns out to be about 1000 hours. Same 108 led corncob model, same spec.

Meritline.com Verified Buyer This bulb is about as bright as a 25W incandescent bulb. It's a good choice for lighting rooms where you want more than a night light but don't want to use a lot of electricity. At 4 watts it's ideal for front or back door (not weatherproof!), basement, garage, child's room, etc. until you turn the real lights on.
