I don't write reviews, but I have to share about this amazing little device! I ordered two and was surprised that it does some remarkable things that are not specified in the ads. A few major things that make this a near perfect little router for me (besides its very small size): 1) You can use the WISP mode to connect to a wireless network (as advertised), but it also AT THE SAME TIME works as an access point. Meaning you can use the device to wirelessly connect to the internet, and then connect other devices wirelessly to this device and share the internet. 2) you can configure the device solely using wireless. This was important to me because I didn't want to have to carry a laptop and cable to configure it for things like IPads and IPods, etc. 3) the wireless range seems excellent. It definitely picks up better than my iPad 2 wireless. For usage, I have one to travel with, and I put one on my blueray player (via ethernet) and it can now wirelessly stream Netflix and Pandora

I bought this to extend my wireless network to a part of my house that gets a poor connection to my current wireless router. I used it to extend the range, so I have two access points, one that covers 80%, and one that covers 40%, they overlap, and you can attach it either one without concern for the other. Since I have two access points configured in my Ipad, when one drops out, the Ipad automatically connects to the other.. This device is so small, you can use a USB battery pack that can be found on merit and many other sites, and power the device in a public place to extend the wireless abilities further than is usually possible.

This unit is small and works fine! I didn't have any trouble flashing the firmware or setting it up. Has a full browser-based configuration utility with many features. I got mine on sale for $24, but it's worth the normal price. Meritline has given me few troubles over the years. This purchase was flawless, and I would recommend this product to anyone wanting a portable wireless AP/router.

This just arrived, and I am simply amazed. First of all, it's tiny-- the size of a box of 'tic tacs' mints. Second, it's powerful-- the wi-fi signal was nearly as strong as my linksys router. And, finally, there is nothing to set up (unless you want security). I simply plugged mine in and logged on to the internet. I will set up the password feature, but I was pleased that it was essentially plug-and-play from the start. I think this would be perfect for travelers. Often hotels have both ethernet and wi-fi in the room, and the wi-fi is slow. With this I can just plug in to the ethernet and have my own wi-fi network! Nice work, Edimax and Meritline!

Not the easiest product to set up. The manual and support documents aren't incredibly helpful either. Not so bad as just a router. I was trying to use the product as an AP for my satellite TV box. Eventually got it to work, but it took some tinkering. Tech savvy but not an IT admin so judge for yourself.

Very dated firmware that takes forever to set up and in my case did not work even after a couple of hours effort. Tiny product that if it worked would be great, but in my case I returned it on an RMA after spending way too much time trying to get it to function. Personally speaking, and even on sale, I do not find this product to be worth buying and I recommend that you avoid it.
