Another fantastic Meritline offering... I put one of these behind a potted plant in the kitchen and now I've extended my wireless out onto the deck and patio area... I am getting 10mbs/15mbs down and 1.5/1.7 mbs up so my speeds are very good, to say the least. Setup was a snap, I followed the directions from the PDF on the EDIMAX site. I'd say it took, maybe 10 minutes to get this working in universal repeater mode. Try doing that with DD-WRT. I have, and I never did get it working. I did update the firmware to 1.03 BEFORE I started. Remember this is a V2 device, so you need the V2 firmware.

It is very easy to setup from web browser and it works well. The signal strength is good. I can easily set it up as a repeater to work with my XBOX to connect to my router wirelessly. It is definietly a good deal of price performance.

Don't bother buying it. Quick start instructions are useless. I was not able to log in to set it up because it requires a password, and the default password listed in the user manual on the CD (which took me forever to find) is not correct. It's now a useless hunk of hardware that I wasted my money on.

This works just OK. I would call it 3.5 stars. It would only set up with the included CD...you couldn't find the router at the specified IP address without it. The setup was not very smooth either. As a repeater, halfway between my router and the computer at the far end of the house, it made virtually no difference in the speed of the connection. It may have been the wireless adaptor on the computer but I don't think so. I ended up using the Edimax as an adapter itself connected to the computer via ethernet cable which seemed to work much better.

The software provided to config it doesnt properly send the 1234 password. best to just reset it to factory and change your computers wifi ip4 settings to 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.2.1 after u wifi connect to its open wifi network. then browse to 192.168.2.1 and enter the 1234 there. after u can configure it, it is game on. Put mine into Universal repeater mode pointed it at my primary routers SSID set this up for the same passphrase and BAM. removed the manual ip4 setup changed to dhcp and it properly sends me to the primary for dhcp and off I go.

This can be set up very easily for a repeater to extend the range of WIFI.

The router keep losing connection when all it needs to do is to connection to my wireless router with WPA2 and feed the connection to my PS3. Once it loses its connection, I need to factory default it and reconfigure everything for it to work again. I work for enterprise WAN and LAN and I know what I am doing. This is frustrating.
