Meritline.com Verified Buyer New old stock Sony microphone sold back in the 90's for their minidisc recorders. Good quality and excellent sound...best when PIP (plug-in power) is used. Works excellently with Meritline 8gb voice recorder (SKU 0015237-001) and provides very clean and accurate audio. A great deal...grab one. BTW Plug-in Power is similar to phantom power used on professional mics. PIP was originally a Sony invention and now used with other recorders that have 3.5mm aux mic inputs (like my Zoom H2n which btw sounds great with this mic).

works as advertised, it is a bit weak and staticky for recording lectures though

Meritline.com Verified Buyer As you can see from zooming in on the rear product photo, this is a Sony microphone. The words "STEREO" and "SONY" are removed from the front photo for whatever reason, but are printed on the unit I received. It is a very nice little mic and has good stereo separation. Note that when they refer to the "front" of the microphone in the description for unidirectional pickup, they mean the sides of the unit since that is the way the mics are affixed. Great value at five bucks shipped and will probably buy more once I test for usable applications in my studio.
