I use this for my iPod touch. I try to minimize charge/discharge cycles on the internal battery of the iPod to lengthen the internal battery's life. The unit holds a charge well and will charge the iPod from less than 50% to full easily. The original unit arrived faulty. The status LEDs would stay illuminated and discharged the backup after 7 days. Was replaced without charge and the replacement unit has been fine.

this unit works but will not fully charge the iphone 3G. it will increase existing battery condition up about 40% before it is empty.
