Nice little kitchen scale. I have used it many times. The bowl is sturdy and the tare function is nice. Battery included! I later bought one for my daughter.

Here is the rest of my review that didn't get to show up on 8/8/2012. The second downside is the ounces is in tenths. Example, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8 etc. It does not read out as 2-1/2, 2-3/8, 2-3/4. I'm not sure if this is a downside or not though because I feel the tenths may give you a more accurate reading. But it doesn't read 2.75 ounces only 2.7 or 2.8. That being said, this is actually the second scale I've bought through meritline. I bought one for my dad as well. If you buy this, I don't think you will be disappointed.

There are a couple of reasons I like this scale. First it hangs up. There is a bar on the top of the scale that you can use to hang it up against the wall. Second, it has a negative read out. Say you place a hole bunch of something in the bowl (dough, meat, fruit). The scale turns off. How do you know how much you are removing. Turn the scale on and remove a quantity. It will tell you in a negative quantity how much you are removing. This is great. Sometimes I'm making breadsticks. I want to remove 2.5 ounces to make each breadstick. The negative reading makes my life so much easier. With other scales I've had to remove the entire quantity of food, turn the scale back on, put my food back on the scale, and then subtract from the amount shown on the screen. There are also a couple of downsides I can think of. First there is a little lag on the reading. It takes a little longer to register the weight, but that is something I've gotten use to. The second downside is the oun
