I ordered 3 units and when I realized that indeed only internal temperature is measured, I opened one to see what's going on. The chip inside is indeed capable of measuring two different temperatures, but only one sensor is assembled (the wired external one is connected to the “in” position). So depending on where you put that sensor, it will measure indoor or outdoor temperatures…

Usage instruction is printed in two languages: Chinese and English. Chinese version of instruction is on one side of the instruction page, and English version of instruction is on the other side of the same instruction page. For outdoor temperature reading, please make sure the sensor on the back of alarm clock is located outdoor.

The product is good for the price. But I can't get the Outdoor temperature to working. It never shows the outdoor temperature. Other features work fine.

I purchased this item (if I recall correctly) for approximately 8-12 dollars shipped to my door. It has performed FLAWLESSLY! Excellent readings and it has a lot of extra bells and whistles. I have yet to implement the use of the alarm system but it will come in handy when humidity drops too low for my garden! Thanks!

indoor portions work, but the outdoor sensor was DOA. Nor RMA from meritline... Lame.

Looks cheap, but does the job. Accurate readings and only 1 AAA required.

For my purpose, it works okay. It's true that the outside sensor does not seem to work. I bought it without any intention of using the outside temperature sensor. I want to have a digital thermometer to put in my garage. It can get quite hot in the summer. For that purpose, it's fine, considering the price I paid for it.
