Yes, this "pocket booster" does charge a mobile phone or iPod; but only a very small amount. It is a design problem, because the output voltage of the Pocket Booster isn't high enough. In reality, a customer should think of this thing as a USB battery charger for AA batteries.

Shipping was fast, but the device never worked. It never charged or held a charge, even after days of charging. I gave up and bought one made by Energizer.

Charged up using USB. Only added 10% to my Droid X on first attempt. It may be the NiMH batteries it comes with. Planning on trying Sanyo Eneloop AAAs to see if I get better results. As is, it's still good for emergency situations. And you can't beet that at the price here. It's larger than I thought it would be. Almost 4" x 1.25". Also, don't be like me, remove the invisible plastic cover off the AAA batteries before trying to charge then. I felt like an idiot when I discovered why it wasn't working.

This product works great. I originally bought this product for my mobile phone. It turned out that it was not compatible with it(Nokia N86). I thought it was going to be useless for the rest of its lifetime. Eventually, I used it for my wireless mouse. A useful product I must say.

Junk. Looks cheap and the batteries fall out. Now, from the looks to functionality. Mine refused to charge the batteries from a PC USB port or a power USB adapter (both had proper voltage). The booster was blinking 3 times and then nothing happened to the batteries. As far as the phone charging is concerned, it was also below expectations. I returned it to Meritline for a refund, but the shipping cost me over a quarter of the product price.
