i saw that there was a $5 sale today on this product and just having purchased it a week ago, i was compelled to write a review. my hard drive crashed on my imac leaving the operating system in operable, yet the hard drive was still sort of working. knowing this, i need the dock master to retrieve some files. it arrived in within a week of ordering and i plugged the hard drive in and in 5 minutes i was able to access my files. i know that it would have cost me more than $20 to go to a retrieval service. for me the product performed to my expectations.

I've had no problems whatsoever with this docking station. It's very stable and very easy to use. Mine contains a 2TB drive hooked to my DVR.

Kingwin on-line pdf "manual" for this drive claims a capacity of 1.5TB, but both their sales and tech support assured me it is good for up to 2TB. Indeed, I have confirmed it works on a 2TB drive. The USB/eSATA one would have been nice, but the 1TB capacity (and only 750GB for Seagate, my drive of choice) was a deal breaker. Arrived in 7 days by FedEx "Smartpost", could have been 5 based on tracking info but FedEx delayed it at the end. Wish it had just shipped by USPS, would have had it in 3.

What is the maximum capacity of this thing? Specs here don't say. Specs on Kingwin website sat 2 TB in the specification section, but if you download the PDF "manual" that says the capacity is 1.5 TB. I need the 2 TB capacity, have passed up several other docking stations because they have less. Will likely pass on this one until I have a definite answer.
