Hot damn, this thing worked flawlessly right out of the box-no drivers, no finicky installation, just plug into a USB port, insert 2 hard drives, turn it on and away you go. Now I can download video on one HDD in .avi format and convert/store it as DVD format on the 2nd HDD. Already thinking about ordering ANOTHER one of these things plus 2 more Hitachi 1 TB drives, but really-does ANYONE need 4.5 terabytes of drive space on his computer?

Works like a charm for me. Contrary to a previous comment, I do *not* have to power cycle it to dock or undock drives (on my Mac). It turns a naked SATA drive into a gigantic 1TB flash drive.

It works fine so far! I've only yet installed one drive in this dual bay unit. You *do* have to power it off to dock or undock drives from the unit. Also wish it had e-sata. Quelle domage! Terrific price for a dual bay dock!
