Meritline.com Verified Buyer The power cord - part that goes from outlet to brick - failed within ten minutes (half way through backup) as it was pretty cheaply made. Had a lot of trouble aligning the pins in IDE>SATA adapter for power plug also. Replaced power cord using similar one I already had - had to whittle down end which goes into brick. Once I got around those issues it worked perfectly.

Meritline.com Verified Buyer Product worked great! I tested it by pulling a SATA 3Gb/s drive from my backup PC and the other computer recognized it with no problems. Then for fun I pulled an IDE drive out of a spare-parts PC that hasn't been powered in many years and it read the drive (all 4GB of it) with similar success. I got to play Duke Nukem 2 and Castle Wolfenstein again thanks to this device! I plan to use it with a 2TB SATA drive to backup all my system's hard drives, but I have not yet tested the included backup software. Unless that software is a complete useless mess I will give this the highest recommendation.

Meritline.com Verified Buyer Broke after 3 uses for like 7 min each. I donot recommend this item.

Meritline.com Verified Buyer Product works as described, but the power cord - the part that runs from the wall outlet to the transformer brick, had a short in it. I replaced it with a spare I had kicking around, although I had to whittle the end of it to fit the brick. The IDE to SATA power adapter had slight fit issues but it was easy to work it after a few tries. Works as promised!
