As with the other reviews, the adapter came with a wall plug not intended for North America. I did manage to find the correct power cord locally. Then, I checked to confirm the correct power output and found it to be on the high end of normal, but usable. Hooked up to a Compaq laptop that normally uses a 65W adapter. However, after using this universal 100W adapter for about an hour to avoid running down the battery, I touched the adapter and nearly burned my fingers; way too hot to touch. I'm surprised it wasn't melting or smoking. Will be returning it to Meritline. Too bad. A nice price but not even worth that.

A total waste of money. It was suppose to have a US power plug and did not. I have been trying now for a month to get the correct plug. They have sent a USB adapter plug instead.

Not bad for the price, gets HOT during use, supplied with overseas/Euro type AC cord, but the cord is of a generic style so it's not hard to find a US replacement

Would be great, if I lived in Europe. Came with a European style plug and a car adapter. I happened to an AC/DC adapter, but when I plugged the car adapter into it, it would charge the laptop for more than 15 seconds at a time.

Works as advertised. Very versatile - can power almost anything, as long as you stay well under the 100W rating. Like the USB power port and ability to work off 110AC or 12VDC. Haven't used it enough yet to judge durability, but seems to be built reasonably well. Unlike some previous reviews, mine shipped with a standard US 2-prong plug.

Works great, received the correct plugs, but it gets a little hot, so I place it on it's side for a little more exposed cooling area. The high pitched whine my laptop had with the Targus is gone. Voltage is better than what costs six times as much. Will buy a second one.
