The original unit came DOA. I chalked it up as a loss since it was inexpensive and mentioned in review. To my surprise, meritline customer service offered me a refund or a replacement without having to return the dead unit. The new meter came in a few weeks and works well and as specified. Products today can be bought at many stores at comparable prices. The main difference I believe is in customer service. I want to tip my hat to Meritline's customer service, in particular Leon and Chris, for their true dedication to customers.

The unit came DOA. It came with a Quality Certified tag. Too bad as it looked like a nice unit. Did not go the RMA route as shipping probably cost as much as the unit itself.

For the price and use it is great. I've only used the dc voltage and resistance in the low ranges. The dc voltage readings settle quickly and agree with other meters. The resistance readings seem to take about 5 seconds to settle down then will continue to jump +/- .1 of an ohm while measuring a 100 ohm resistor. Also, I cannot figure out how zero out the resistance - touching the leads together while on the 200 ohm setting shows about 1 ohm. There is some documentation (minimal) on line so do not worry if you cannot read Romanian.

The product build quality is average with cheap plastics all over. And it didn't came with English instructions, so I couldn't figured out how to use it because i never used one before. however, Meritline customer service was very good on this and they emailed me an English version in a flash. great customer service, meritline is definitly one of my favorite sites to shop now.

Works. Not sure if any of the languages in which the face of the meter is printed in is spoken/read in US. I think its German ;) for a change. The numbers and symbols are english. So I could figure whats what.

did not work. very flimsy. even if it did work when I got it, I can't imagine it lasting long. on the plus side, they offered a swift refund.

Worked fine when I first tried it. Left it sitting around then came to use again and it just reads 1 on all tests. Even touching probes on resistance still reads 1. Figure it's dead or possibly the fuse so opened it. Interesting that the case is marked with the fuse replacement type however the fuse is soldered to the board which makes replacement all but impossible. All in all a nice light unit so may try another.
