The fairly bright pattern from this light is a wide spot, that's useful at eye level from arm's length outward. It doesn't tilt to be usable in close for small items. Silver finish below a visor would be better if black and not shiny. The 10 LED's must be in parallel, as it draws 500-700 mA, and needs good NiMH or Lithium batteries (for an hour or just over life). Holds well under a cap visor, but curved to not fit above one for less glare, and slides off a hard hat visor. Battery contacts and switch work better than some other Meritline small lights.

Broke after second use. Battery compartment was slightly off shaped causing the total failure/break.

The one time I used it, it worked well. When I tried to remove it from the cap, one of the plastic spring clips broke. Wish that the clips were less prone to breakage because it was quite helpful when I used it.

Finally a clip-on LED lamp that is as bright (to my eyes) as the Xenon one. I had older ones with fewer LEDs and they were well okay...This is one is fine! And it does not make be feel like I overpaid for useless dimming and flashing features either. Good product!
