Cool in theory, total crap in practice. I bought them for my 6 year old, and though they look really nice the boy can't run 5 feet in them. The laces don't secure well inside the little holes in which you plug them in order for them to both light up and securely stay in place. Those "mechanisms" are just holes with little plastic knobs which barely turn and dont work well, if at all, for securing the laces. I wouldn't reccomed them to anyone. If they redesigned them with higher quality in mind, sure. As is, no way.

These are alright, they do light up nice in the dark, but the plastic tube lace is not long enough to weave through all shoelace holes, have to get a tad creative with their lace up.
