Meritline.com Verified Buyer I will start by saying that it took me getting a replacement of one of these to get a good working one. Props to Meritline for replaceing the DOA one with no questions asked. For the watch, you should know that the picture here on the site is with the backlight ON. Most of the time, the display is pretty dim. Not to the point that you cant see it in average light, but its not visible at all in any kind of low light. The backlight is really bright though, but it only stays on for about 2 seconds. I like the watch overall, but 4 stars for it may be a little generous, given the dimness. Also you will need to come back to the product page to find out how to set it. It is very much an enigma.

I have a slightly different watch 264-722, but with the same setup directions. The light is good, but I can't turn off the hourly chime either. The rest of the setup is straightforward. Meritline should add to the setup directions if there is a way to turn it off.

Ordered the watch, as the other review said, the watch is pretty much impossible to read in low light and the light stays on for a very small amount of time. Which is fine, doesn't really bother me, it was just a bit of a pain when trying to set up the watch... which I had to come back to this page to do. However, I couldn't find anywhere that let me turn off the beeping on hour changes...
