Not 3-watts. Maybe 1-watt. Not powerful. The markings on the case are rubbing-off with normal use. This is really just an average LED flashlight and nothing more. I have not figured out why this is a 'Police' flashlight. Usually, the law-enforcement personnel use really bright, awesome units--not what this light is. I am a bit disappointed. $3.00 would be a good deal...at $6.00 it's best to apply the money towards a much more satisfactory light.
