Description & Specs

Mountek MT5000 Hands Free Car Mount for Apple iPhone, Android phones, and GPS

    Manufacturer Part # MT5000-D

    Mountek

Shopping for a reliable, high-quality mount for your mobile device? This one installs directly into your CD player slot or in between the grooves of your dash. PATENT PENDING DESIGN. It uses NO SUCTION CUPS, NO CLIPS, NO SCREWS, and it requires NO TOOLS. Best part, it won't obstruct your view of the road. FAQs: My charge port is located on the side of my phone. Will this allow for me to charge it at the same time? Absolutely. Simply detach the support bar located at the bottom of the cradle, and you can easily mount your phone with the charge port exposed. Will the blade activate the CD's auto loader? Although all CD players are made differently, the plastic blade does not reach far enough to activate a CD player's auto loading function. If my CD player has a rubber/cloth dust guard, will the mount damage it? The max depth the nGroove blade can reach is 16mm or .63". If the depth of your dust guard is shorter than this, then the plastic blade might cause it to appear warped or wrinkled. I have an extended battery which requires a larger case. Will it fit? The MT5000 was not designed for devices thicker than .70", but you still might be able to mount your phone without its case. NOTE: You must completely loosen the blade's tightening wheel BEFORE uninstalling the mount. Compatible with the new iPhone 3GS/4/4S/5, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Inspire, HTC myTouch, Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S Series, LG Revolution, Motorola Droid Bionic, Atrix, & More! Will not fit TomTom GPS units with a protruding rear speaker.

This is an excellent product. It works perfectly. My only issue is that it covers the display on my radio. On my car, the clock is on the radio. So I can't tell what time it is. I'm just going to use this in my other car that won't have this issue

I love the mount so far and it works on the new Highlander perfectly on the CD position pretty high. I hope it stays tight for a long time though. The only thing I don't like is the bottom hold. It's fix in place and not adjustable, so with an iPhone on its side for GPS, it's heavy on one side and hard to balance because you can't set the iPhone in the middle and it's pretty loose to turn.

I really like the mount. It is close to being perfect, but not quite. I drive an '07 Altima and the docking gets in the way of either the display or the radio buttons. It's not too bad, so I flipped it so I could see the display. I'm eventually going to get a Bluetooth/auxiliary for the car to stream music, so the screen won't matter. Other than that, the swivel seems like it could be sturdier. The mount swivels too often when I hit a turn a little to fast (not that fast) or if I hit a bump. Not that frustrating, but the main reason I docked a star. Mount works great in the CD slot. The unit will have no problem staying in place.

Overall, I'm happy about this product. Even though I put it into my CD player, the car mount comes out of my CD player, you can easily push it back in. That's mainly because I go on long car rides, with some bumps here and there. Without the bumps, it stays in the CD player just fine. The mount can also spin 360-degrees, which makes it very customizable. I enjoy this product!

I tried it on a couple of cars and it seems to work well, holds the smart phone firmly and is easy to get in and out. Not tried with my Garmin but it should work OK. It holds the phone horizontally which is better for Google Maps and navigating. Not sure what would happen if there was a CD installed and I bumped the eject button ? Don't think I want to try that.

Seems to work adequately...maybe not for all cars though. Some features could've used improvement. Not enough adjustment capabilities. Needs to be more modular. All in all a well made piece.

You need to make sure your phone is secure. Squeeze the size tightly, and don't use a limp hand to do so. The swivel that holds the phone is always turning as my car moves. It won't stay in place. I am not sure if I got a bad mount or if this is how it is supposed to be. I like it because it is adjustable as opposed to the other Mountek that requires magnets.

First, let me say I like the product. I like the design of CD slot mount instead of the other mechanisms. It is clean, easily portable, better than the other two I have used so far. Here is the bad part. After a month of usage, the mount has fell from the CD slot twice due to the loosened up base screw. I have tried making it tighter, but seems after a while, it always get loose. The road in MN is indeed very bumpy with all the ice on the street. Fortunately, my phone is still ok, but I got concerned if I should keep it or return it (never returned anything at Meritline, so need to find out the policy) I like it so much that I want to give it another chance, especially with most positive reviews here. I didn't keep the Mountek support email address that came with the package, so I emailed the company from its web site last week, but no response so far. I may have to return it if I can find a good solution. BTW, if anybody has that email address, please let me know. Thanks.
