The tool's versatility is impressive. Unfortunately, it has a fatal flaw. The projection laser doesn't produce straight lines. The lines are CURVED, as much as 1 inch in three feet. The crossed laser lines are only perpendicular to each other if the tool is perfectly perpendicular to the surface it is aimed at. The lines themselves vary in both thickness and brightness. They can be 1/4 inch thick or 1/16th inch thick and brightness varies from intense to nearly invisible. I can't tell if these problems are the result of a defective unit or of a defective design, but the laser in the unit I received cannot be used for its most important purpose, that of a straight edge.. The other things function as one would expect them to.

This is the slickest think since sliced bread. Three different types of laser lines, a 6 inch scale on both sides, and a retracing tape. Does it get any better when you are hanging pictures?

I bought one of these almost a year ago and I don't want to hurt anyones feelings but the laser, the most important part, does not work correctly. Both the straight line and the crossed lines are not straight, they are curved. I think it has to do with the design of the disperser in front of the laser.

Not straight. The only good thing is the actual liquid leveler. The laser part is awful. Dont recommend.

Like others have said already, good idea, but bad execution. The laser part is useless: in my case, it stopped producing any lines few days after I got it - and it's not like I used it a lot or dropped or anything. But for $7 I got a tape with levels, which is fine.

I enjoy building new projects around the house on weekends. Having the right tools help. Not having to carry a lot of tools from place to place helps. Multi tasking tools are the answer and this is one that I think is great. I bought two, one for my truck tool box and one for home. Thanks Meritline
