I brought it honestly because there was $20 coupon and I needed a capture card. It seems to look similar to the Avertv HD DVR capture card but that's where the similarity ends... mainly because I can't even get the software to work! // First off, instruction are for those who use Windows XP, so that was useless but I have knowledge to installing drivers so that was ok. But after all that, everytime I run the software the computer goes into blue screen with the error APC_MISMATCH or such which I looked it up says that it's driver issue. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and software and same thing but worst as the further I fix it more the problems such as System Restore restoring it to factory settings and a DLL file that restricted me to doing anything on the OS. // I'm sure the hardware itself may work but the idiot who made the software needs to start from scratch as it has screwed up my computer ten-fold. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

There were no reviews when I purchased this item. The software will mess up your computer. Do not buy this product. Do your research before buying. I tried to get this to work, but it won't. The hardware doesn't sit right in my motherboard and the software will send you an error message. I tried the "fix" download on this page and it didn't work. Don't bother.

I find that this card is good when use it under 32bits windows, but for my 64bits windows PC, it has issues.I tested 5 computers and find this point.

It works as it promised. On my i3 motherboard, I can capture my PS3 video very smooth. Only one thing is the software is too simple.

It meets my expectation. I can capture 720P video from XBOX 360 now. I have to use dual channel sound. 5.1 sound won't work through HDMI cable. 720P picture is not as fine as viewed from an HDTV, it's obvious, I think that's because of MPEG2 compression (hardware?), but it's surely better than a cheap USB 480i video capture device. And a 1080P capture card will be twice more expensive. 2011 drivers and software work fine with win7 64bit. The capture software functions are simple, enough for me. It's great price, works ok, nothing outstanding.

At the very beginning when I use this box, its software is not working well, then I sent email to meritline, and my email was forward to mygica support, then I get a new software, everything is perfect after I use the new software. Thanks.

This didn't fit properly in my case/motherboard. The software is also rather basic and the one-click recording, while simple, doesn't provide spectacular quality. Cons out of the way, the product works fine in my case removing a screw and bending the bracket slightly. You also don't have to use the software provided by the OEM (aside from driver of course). I've been using VirtualDub on a Pentium E5500 (just an average dual core CPU) to capture lossless video from my Xbox 360, 720p at 30 & 60fps in both XP x64 and W7 x64 with no dropped frames. This is a fine product at an unbeatable price point. If you're a cheapskate like me (and if you're looking at this, you probably are) and patient the configuration and testing will likely be significant, but this capture card will serve you well in the end. I have NOT used this card to capture much audio, enough to say it's possible and passable. Usually I capture to my soundcard, or through optical for 5.1 and combine it with the video later.
