I just bought the: "Mygica SuperColor HD TV Box with Remote, NTSC TV Tuner", in Aug. 2009. I think "NTSC" is the important note here because maybe if it was "ATSC" I would be able to receive "digital over the air broadcasts". All I receive is analog, which, after the Nation's Digital Transition leaves me with NBC and a half dozen fuzzy Latin Channels. I thought "HD" meant "Digital". I have to use a Digital Converter Box with this Box to get Digital Tv. I haven't tried to connect pc yet but everything else seems to work ok with CRT monitor. Meritline was quick to respond to my request for RMA (Kudos), but I decided to keep it anyway. I think the: "KWorld SA290-Q LE External ATSC/QAM TVBox" is digital (compUSA), but that box is $60.

Just like having a regular tv in my bedroom! This is a great alternative until I can afford to buy that thousand dollar flat panel lcd! =D Haven't had any issues. Picture is very clear. Remote is great. I get all the channels. Couldn't ask for anything better.

Works Great on 7/24/2009

I LOVE this little box it really comes in handy. I just moved into a new apt and didn't have money to get a brand new tv at the moment so I got this to use with my 20'' LCD monitor instead. The picture quality is amazing. If I didn't know I was using a monitor I'd think I was watching regular tv. Lifesaver!! I also love that the box is small and light so I can take it along with me when I travel. Must-have item!

It's a good product but it's available for half the price online. Just keep surfing.

On the first one, the remote did not work. The second one that I received nothing worked. This thing is an absolute piece of junk.

This is the 2nd box I tried and it is absolutely useless. I've tried all the modes, all the possible settings and tried with 2 LCDs, but only the VGA input working. All other modes such as TV, AV, SVideo, only audio is working, either no graphics or extremely poor, un-viewable.

It is pretty much useless, since NTSC signals are not on the air in USA, and this converter box doesn't come with an ATSC tuner. So don't waste your money, buy something with ATSC built in.

The tuner works well, changes channels rapidly, provides good color and picture. Using with a 26" Westinghouse 1080P LCD monitor. Shipping was fast and the price was excellent.

Does any user know how to connect this device to the computer? My computer shuts down when I connect this device to my computer using the provided cable. So I cannot use my display with my computer along side TV. This is the 2nd device I am trying to set it up with as first one had a similar problem. And please don't point me to customer service. I won't be asking for help here otherwise.

This device is compact and tunes well and has a lot of inputs. The picture quality is better than the other K-World device I have. The remote is slick but a little flimsy and may give in after a few months since remotes are (ab)used more often. The monitor input on this device was not working and neither the menu showed this as an available sources to chose from. I have RMAed this device with additional cost of $13 on top of the sale price (which I am totally unhappy about). I am curious to know how Meritline handles this RMA. If its a defective device (which I strongly believe is) then Meritline should give me a store credit worth the extra $$ I spent on the RMA shipment. If they don't then I would be really unhappy with the extra money I spent on this one on top of the retail price. All in all this is a very neat tuner (not ATSC but plain old NTSC) giving out excellent picture if you get lucky with the all the inputs and everything.

It would be adequate if it worked right. First, the review of how it works when working properly: The picture is ok (not great) on my son's 1440x900 widescreen LCD monitor, but there's one major problem with display on widescreen monitors - the NTSC TV signal is 4:3, and this unit stretches the picture for display on a 16:9 monitor. This fills up the screen but probably contributes to the image being less than great. I'd like if I could choose to maintain the 4:3 aspect ratio for a better picture, even if that means black bars on the sides of my widescreen LCD. There is no menu setting to do this. Second, the operational problem: The sound cuts out on the unit I received. After a few minutes of operation, the sound suddenly decreases to nothing for no apparent reason. Turning the unit off and back on again gets the sound back. I would probably keep the product and live with the stretched TV image if not for the sound malfunction. As it is I will probably return it if the sound malfunc

I ordered the "Mygica SuperColor HD TV Box" to connect some older game systems to a "ViewSonic VX2433wm 24 inch widescreen monitor". Pros The tv box does a great job of scaling the video up. The picture quality is great. Sells for a great price. Cons The highest res this monitor can show is 1920 x 1080. The highest res the tv box has that is compatible with this monitor 1600 x 1200. If the video source is 4:3 from the composite, svideo or component inputs it stretches the video the full width of the screen. This ok unless you have a widescreen (16:9) monitor. This could of been corrected by the tv box having an "aspect ratio" option (fullscreen, letterbox, pillarbox). Luckly the viewsonic monitor has an aspect ratio option hidden in its menus. The tv box has multiple video input for non computer equipment. It has component, composite and svideo inputs, but all these share one set of audio inputs.

I love this device. Turns old monitors into tvs. The only drawback is lack of aspect ratio control. One must use a 4:3 display or thereabouts, a 16:9 panel must be viewed stretched

Not exactly what I was expecting based on the product description. The description left off the fact that one needed a PC to connect this to.

Even though this converter only supports analog TV and viewing 1 video source at a time (no PIP), it works great with cable TV, DVD players, and even old VCR & video games. I bought several so I could finally put all of my old PC monitors to good use, as TV's for every room in the house ;-)

Thank you Carl, your comments are precise. Good to know that I will need a digital TV converter box along with this to watch the new digital broadcast on my LCD monitor.

This converter box does exactly what I wanted. I have a Dell 23" 1080p LCD monitor with VGA or DVI in... and was looking for a way to use it as a TV. My setup has my xbox360 connected to the converter and the converter hooked up to my onkyo receiver for sound. I haven't experienced any technical difficulties with this item. It works as intended. It has menus for easy configuration.

damn.. It is just broken within 2 days. I posted below and gave 5 stars but it just broke by itself. It works 1 day and broke..?! I didn't change or touch anything. it just suicided. It displays greenish garbage on every mode except component mode. I could try 2nd unit by exchange but.. why bother..? obviously this company has serious QA problem.
